They had ultra stinky service in the late afternoon.
After 30 minutes, we couldn’t leave too soon.
We saw the waitress multiple times (and we waved),
seemed like she was avoiding us, so we didn’t stay…

Had a wonderful dinner here last night with some friends. Located in the heart of Yverdon-​les-​Bains, directly across from the castle, is this Swiss-​Italian café restaurant. If the weather had been warmer, we would have taken a seat in their outdoor area in the square, but due to the rain we hurried inside. Inside they have done a nice job of maintaining a historic space, while adding some modern art touches. We all started out with the verte salad, you could choose French or Italian dressing, I found the Italian vinaigrette dressing was good. Two of our group had pizza, and another lasagna, and myself the gnocchi. I have to say the gnocchi looked the best. It is baked in the oven with delicious buffalo mozzarella and other goodies. It was superb. The food is served in the dish it is baked in, so you have to be sure to let it sit several minutes before tasting it, to avoid burning your mouth.
They have a decent wine selection, and currently on the menu they have an Italian red wine you can purchase by the glass, which was excellent. The prices are not steep, and just about right for Swiss dinning standards. The place was busy, and we were lucky to get the last table, definitely smart to reserve in advance.
TIP. If you need to utilise the washrooms, you need to be sure to press the button as you exit the inside restaurant door. Then you go across the main entrance hall and open another door to access the washroom area.

Un bon petit restaurant de quartier avec un bon petit menu.

Local’s favorite. The streak on slate is good, but I highly recommend horse meat. Very lean and rich taste. Everything made from a scratch, every plate is good.
