Arrived expecting a nice end to a nice couple days in Zermatt. What I was greeted with certainly surprised me. The women behind the counter was unfriendly and downright aggressive when I told her I wanted to stay in the café to enjoy some breakfast. Even when here, I was asked to sit outside in the middle of the snow for some odd reason. I don’t know why so I’ll assume they don’t like ‘my kind’ at their place. Good was still decent but warning to foreigners, you may not be welcome.

Opt for the creamy/custard filled desserts which are pretty excellent… in contrast, the good-looking sachertorte was too dry and I have found the chocolatey desserts generally disappointing. Credit cards accepted only for amounts of 15CHF or greater. Come early if you want the best variety as quantities are severely limited after 17:30-ish in ski season…
