Great place to meet and eat, service better than average for zug standards, price in the Zg realms, food tasty.

Negishi is just average but may be the best Japanese restaurant in Zug. The service was average. I would probably give the quality of the food two stars and the atmosphere four stars. Edamame was a little hard but the bento boxes were filling. The prices are what you would expect in Switzerland. There was a waitress who spoke Japanese.

Me and my friend love sushi. So we decided to test the newly opened sushi restaurant in zug First impression: very nice interior! Is is kind of new york style. industry chic, flagged walls, wood, metall and so on. But in a chic way. Really nice I ordered the spicy tuna tartar as appetizer. It was not bad. Not the best ever had, but ok. My friend ordered a algae salad. This was pretty good. As main dish we ordered a lot of rolls at randoom. Everything was great. Only wormdwood was that the edamame we ordered as a side dish came very late when we almost had finished our food, but thats not too bad!:) Also they offer some special teas. I tasted the ginger twist. Good stuff… I really recommend this place to eat some good sushi. Also the price is ok…

Decided to do lunch yesterday at the newly opened Negishi in Zug. The restaurant area is huge and we were comfortably seated on a wooden table/bench within minutes. Nice ambience. It was a blue Monday promo so every sushi on the kaiten belt is CHF5.50 per plate. We went for the set lunch which is chicken teriyaki rice with salad, 1 pcs of salmon sushi, 2 California rolls, 1 pcs of tuna sushi, 2 small sushi on the side for a price of CHF22.50. You can then top up CHF6 for drink of your selection, a starter(miso soup or a bowl of edamame) and coffee. The cold green tea is very disappointing, bland and with a lemon inside, that changes the taste of authentic green tea. Edamame was fresh and came in a huge portion(thumbs up!) and espresso(good stuff no joke!). Sushi is good but we didn’t really enjoy the teriyaki sauced grill chicken diced chicken meat. Teriyaki sauce could be sweeter and stronger, the chicken meat should have pre marinated with the sauce rather than grilled and top it up with bland teriyaki sauce. That was very disappointing… The service was just so so, probably new place, crowded lunch time and staff haven’t get around what they need to do. Waited quite a bit before being served at the table(even waved at a few waitresses that passed by our table). Anyway, I think I will just come back here for sushi only(although the unfiltered sake rice wine is very tempting) Price is standard Switzerland price scale I guess. Big eater maybe need to fork out more money to enjoy a comfortably meal here :)
