EDIT: Original posting below, but want to thank Nina for reaching out to me while I was still at the hotel. She remedied the situation with the corkage fee and chatted with me about the rest of my review. Extremely professional and courteous! To add to my review — the hotel itself is quite lovely and unique! The rooms were beautiful. And the chicken caesar salad I ordered from the restaurant was also really good. Nina also explained that part of the reason for the small menu is intentional — they only use local, in-season produce and try to stay authentic to the atmosphere of the hotel. Seems totally reasonable :) Overall, great customer service easily makes up for the minor issue I had. Looking forward to staying here again! ### Original review ### This is specifically for the restaurant(FYI — the check-in, hotel room, etc., service, etc., I’d easily rate 4 – 5 stars). I was underwhelmed and then disappointed. In terms of being underwhelmed, it’s a very small menu for lunch and dinner(and it’s the same menu for lunch and dinner), so good luck if you end up needing to eat at the hotel twice in one day. I ordered the NY style cheesecake — it was anything but. It was OK, but definitely not NY-style(wrong taste, wrong consistency, wrong flavor, served wrong, wrong crust, wrong type of cheese used…). The burger, however, was pretty good. I came down one afternoon, around 1500, no one was around. I had brought down a bottle of wine I had bought. Asked them to open it and if I could camp out and work. No problem… well, 1 glass later, I was informed there was a problem. A $ 25 corkage fee problem. Very disappointing they didn’t disclose this — especially when there was no one else around. It’s not like I was taking business from them — I got a wine they don’t serve(because they have a terrible wine selection) and I’m staying at their hotel and wanted a place to work and sip on some wine. If they had an alternative place, I would have worked there.

I’m giving the B24 stars based mostly on the hotel’s proximity to my company’s office in Zurich. While the hotel is very nice and the rooms well appointed, if a little small(which is mostly the case in basic European hotels) there isn’t much else of note here. The bar is virtually non-existent, with just two chairs and a limited selection of beer, wine and spirits. Speaking of limited, both the dining menu and the breakfast buffet is very sparse. Perhaps my biggest knock on the B2 is the fact that they charge an additional CHF25 for access to the spa area. For the CHF315 per night I’m spending, I would expect to swim and soak in a hot tub for free. Next time I’m in Zurich, I’ll stay at the Sheraton Four Points or the Marriott.

It’s my 2nd time here. August 2012(3 weeks), last week of Oct 2013(1 week). I love this hotel. The room is really nice and clean with up to date amenities. The staff are always helpful and smiling, special mention to Isabell who really helped me out during my stay here. She even suggested to box my breakfast if I want so I can bring it to my train since I have to live at around 740a(breakfast starts at 730a). You should try the spa, it’s all worth it as you can use it for 24h. Always the best! Will recommend and will come back. PS — Oh this year they provided us with a free drink in the library/bar and a free hurlimann beer everyday in our room ref. That’s nice!

This hotel is a cross between a library and a hotel. There are books everywhere. Books on shelves in the lobby. Books in the hotel rooms. Tables made out of books. Staff is friendly and helpful. I loved the atmosphere. The rooms were nice and mine didn’t feel like it was a stock hotel room, as is often the case in larger hotels. My room had a modern widescreen T.V., a desk and a large modern bathroom. It also(of course) had its own custom collection of books

Do you want to chat with a friend in private? It’s summer time, a warm suffocating day and you wish you could find a fresh and cosy bar? It is early in the morning, the bars are still closed and you need a quiet place to spend hours working on your laptop? I’ve found the right spot for you: the Library of the B2 Boutique Hotel +Spa in the former Hürlimann brewery. The Library is an inviting place for business meetings, chilling out, chatting, surfing, flirting and networking … Simply amazing and inspiring. Over there is the breakfast served and the wine bar offers all day long(until 11.30pm) a small range of light dishes and beverages with local wines and of course the legendary Hürlimann beer. The hotel has 2 boardrooms and 60 rooms of various categories: Standard, Executive, Junior Suite and Suite. Each one of them is unique and is decorated with a stylish industrial character. As external guest you cannot enjoy it, but the must for hotel guests is the direct access to the spa. Of course, for an expert of Swiss thermal baths as I am, I’ve already tested it and it is indeed absolutely unique. I love the archaic barrel vaults of the former brewery and the inner decoration is a beauty, but most of all it is the fantastic 360° view over the city of Zurich from the roof pool that makes me every time speechless! Don’t you?
