Wow, this was possibly the worst«Thai» food I’ve ever had! We had a 2 for 1 voucher for take away, and still it was overpriced for what we got. The food was microwaved and looked like it was a prepackaged frozen meal. The textures were all off from being microwaved — rubbery noodles for me, chewy chicken for my husband. I don’t understand how this restaurant is in business at all, it’s overpriced and terrible. It’s like someone heard about Thai food from a friend, never tasted it, then decided that a freezer and a microwave made a restaurant, and opened Cha Cha.

I am not impressed. Sorry. This a new restaurant that opened really close to my building so I was there with a colleague for lunch, they do have a lunch formula but it’s only one meal(i.e. you can’t choose between a few dishes, there is only one, so if you are vegetarian but the meal is not, you are not going to be please). With that, you get one of the iced teas, and it costs 16,50CHF, which is definitely low in Zürich. Only from 11h-14h or so. That being said, you may checked which you will get beforehand if you go to their website, there is a menu option, then you have to select one the right«special card month» which is a PDF file. There meal rotates every week, of course, I went when it was not a vegetarian main, so I had to take something from the menu, and it is not especially cheap. My colleague went for the weekly special though(Gebratener Thai Reis mit Poulet und Gemüse), and the portion was slightly smaller than mine was(but still definitely large). My thing was called: Thai-Ingwer-Gemüse-Reis, as they explain themselves: Thai rice with lightly roasted vegetables, cashew nuts, fresh ginger, spinach and bean sprouts cooked in soy sauce. It is not completely bad, it is just not that tasty and there are not enough cashew nuts to my linking. I did not take anything to drink so, unfortunately I can’t tell you about their ice-tea. Other than that, the service will ask you every 2mn if you have decided what to order(which may eventually annoy you because you are slow for choosing food, like me), can be good if you need to be quick for lunch. The furniture in the restaurant, though modern, seems like just out of IKEA, everything is formatted and in row and there is an astonishing 220 sittings, which is quite large for Zurich. In short, it does really give you a feeling of a large chain, which you will get, no surprise, can be handy for a lunch with coworkers as you are likely to find much room in there.
