KL Teppanyaki

Ist ein sehr ausgezeichnetes restaurant die kombinationen mit dem essen ist hervorragend

Etwas versteckt liegt dieses tolle Restaurant an der Nüschelerstrasse.
Die Einrichtung und das Konzept finde ich durchaus ansprechend: grosse offene Küche mit Sitzplätzen direkt vor dem Grill. Das Auge kann hier mitessen: alle Speisen sind schön angerichtet und die Schärfe des Gerichts entsprach genau meinen Vorstellung. Das Preis-​/​Leistungsverhältnis fand ich absolut in Ordnung, wenn auch eher im oberen Bereich. Leider stammt viel Fleisch aus dem Ausland, was ich persönlich nicht schätze. Dafür gibt’s einen Stern Abzug.
Reservieren lohnt sich — hier kann es (gerade im Winter) ganz schön voll werden.

Vor kurzer Zeit war ich zum ersten Mal im KL Tepannyaki.
Vorab, man sollte keine, wie man es aus Filmen kennt, artistischen Kochkunststücke erwarten.
Das Laos Bier ist gemacklich ganz gut. Zu Empfehlen ist der hausgemachte Zitronengras-​Eistee.
Vor der Hauptspeise teilten wir eine Vorspeisenplatte für knapp 15 CHF pro Person, meiner Meinung nach ist diese den Preis nicht wert. Hier lieber die 15 CHF in ‘A Discretion’ investieren.
Ich hatte eine 3-​erlei Auswahl an Fleisch (Poulet, Rind und Shrimps) vom Teppanyaki für ca. 35 + 3 CHF extra für gebratenen Reis bzw. Knobi-​Reis. Aber danach ist man nicht «pappsatt», hätte für den Preis meiner Meinung nach etwas mehr seien dürfen.
Geschmacklich ganz lecker, das Rind leider zu durch (auch bei anderen, konnte ich aufgrund eines Sitzplatzes in Teppanyaki nähe sehen). :-(
Ich hatte es mir irgendwie anders vorgestellt, irgendwie — mehr wow!
Denke ich gebe dem KL Teppanyaki nochmal eine Chance, dann aber mit A Discretion für ca. 50 CHF (geht nur Tischweise, also vorher mit der Gruppe oder Begleitung abstimmen ;-))
Der Service war sehr nett und kompetent. So soll das sein :-)

If I could give 2.5 stars I would. I know that my fellow Unilocalers all have written rave reviews about this place but I’m not so sure. I agree, the service was amazing and reacted really professionally when messing up our starters order and the atmosphere is really nice. Also, the wan tan and Satay on the starter platter were really yummy!
However, I really wasn’t too convinced by the main course. I kinda expected — I don’t know — something a little more high-​end for 30+ CHF and also a little more meat since this is what it’s all about at a teppan yaki grill, right? I must confess, I’ve never been to a teppan yaki grill before and maybe all the grills I’ve seen in movies and TV shows have given me a false impression of going to a meat-eater’s paradise. My plate turned out to consist of only around 8 scallops, some of which were cold on the inside. I wasn’t a fan of the side dishes, either, and so, I went home hungry.
My second complaint is the «Bubble Tea». You have to understand. One does not simply offer Bubble Tea on the menu and then serve some chewy, old (obviously pre-​prepared and refrigerated) tapioca pearls in an unsweetened (!) milk tea. We ordered three different kinds and they were all like this. Gosh, I was severely disappointed since I’ve been pining for a good Bubble Tea ever since Sabotai closed. Oh well, the search continues.

Excellent service. Attentive with a smile, without being intruding. The lamb was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Perfect for groups. Very nice atmotsphere. On the pricier side though.

Atmosphäre sehr cool und angenehm. Mitarbeiter vom KL Teppanyaki super freundlich und das Essen ist für uns perfekt gewesen! Meine Empfehlung: Teppanyaki gemischt bestellen!
Es ist alles in allen ein Erlebnis, das man mal gemacht haben sollte.

Heard a lot of good things about this restaurant from friends lately so decided to try it out for myself.
I called around 6:30pm on a Saturday evening to make a reservation for 2 for 8:00pm. Was pleasantly surprised that they had space to accommodate us. Arrived at 8:05 and got seated promptly at the table around the grill by a very friendly waitress. We ordered drinks while deciding on what to order. I was not completely satisfied with my ginger lemongrass ice tea. I spoke to the same friendly waitress about it, she was quite apologetic and happily replaced it with another drink of my choice (Matcha ice tea), which was perfect.
We ordered Chicken gyoza to start. It was lean and tasty. The ginger dressing that came with the gyoza was zesty and tangy I was tempted to eat it straight up after the gyozas were finished. Took a while before the entrees were served as the restaurant was very busy on this Saturday evening. We watched the chef cook our dishes in front of us. He was not quite as friendly as the waitress but still courteous. The food was worth the wait. My husband got the chicken teriyaki and I had the red snapper teppanyaki. Both were delicious and authentically flavored. Neither the chicken nor the fish were over-​cooked. I added some more of that ginger dressing to my dish, which really brought it up a notch.
Will definitely go back for more good food and friendly service of KL Teppanyaki.

Can’t believe I had never seen this place, since I work really like 5min away.
The restaurant is cozy and nicely decorated. You can sit by the bar and see the Mast cook in action or get a seat in one of the tables. They aren’t super comfortable, because you can’t lean on them, but like this more people can fit in one table.
I thought only the prices where a bit high for what it is. Fair enough I didn’t order a Teppanyaki, but the Chicken Teriyaki. It was good, but for my taste to much sauce for the amount of rice I got and also it was really spiced so I would have like a bit more rice to neutralise it
The service is very good and they are very friendly. Also the location for a work lunch or dinner after is perfect. Also being so close to the Kaufleuten, this is a good option before going to party there.
Will try it again and then I’ll have the teppanyaki or maybe they have some lunch specials!

Wow, wie oft bin ich am KL Teppanyaki schon vorbeigelaufen ohne da auch einmal einzukehren. Vor ein paar Wochen hab ich diesen Fakt geändert, da ich für ein Dinner mit einer Freundin ein geeignetes Lokal suchte. Ihre Präferenz: Asiatisch, aber nicht scharf. Und das hatte ich hier gefunden, wobei Liebhaber scharfen Essens bitte nun nicht abgeschreckt sein sollen — man kann alle Gerichte auch scharf haben.
Teppanyaki ist ja eine Kochart aus Japan — das Restaurant serviert dementsprechend japanische Spezialitäten. Ich hatte vorher angerufen und auf meinen Vornamen reserviert. Beim Ankommen durften wir auch aussuchen, wo wir gerne sitzen würden. Wir wählten einen Platz an der «Bar», also nahe beim Grill. DIe Sitze da sind so ausgerichtet, dass man um den Grill rumsitzt. So kann man zuschauen, wie der Koch das Essen zubereitet. Somit ist die Hygiene top, was anderes könnten sie sich ja schlichtweg nicht erlauben.
Ich wählte das Teppanyaki mit Rindfleisch. Eine gute Wahl! Das Gericht wird mit Reis, Gemüse und eben dem Fleisch serviert. Dazu kommt ein wenig pickled Ginger (eingelegter Ingwer) und zwei Saucen. Der Reis war gut (also normal), das Gemüse super und das Fleisch einfach nur traumhaft. Sooooo dermassen zart, es war ein Traum. Einfach grossartig! Das Teppanyaki gibt’s übrigens auch à discrétion. Lohnt sich preistechnisch auch total, wie ich finde.
Getrunken hatte ich einen hausgemachten Eistee, ich habe beide probiert und empfehle den mit Zitronengras. Superlecker! Die Dessertkarte hab ich zwar studiert, und die frittierte Banane hat mich angelächelt, ich hatte aber keinen Hunger mehr.
Die Preise sind für Zürich normal. Ganz günstig ist es nicht, dafür wird auch Qualitätsware verarbeitet.
Was hier aber besonders raussticht: Der Service und die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Da ich das Essen so gut toll fand, bin ich einen Tag später spontan nochmals da Abendessen gegangen. Beim betreten wurde ich ohne was zu sagen mit meinem Vornamen begrüsst. Wow — ich war verblüfft. Es zeigt, wie man sich hier über die Kunden freut und sich um sie kümmert.
Ich werde ganz bald wieder da sein, vielleicht auch mal zum Lunch. Wirklich sehr empfehlenswertes Lokal mitten im Herzen Zürichs.

Teppanyaki is a very nice habachi grill restaurant in the financial district.
The host was great and made sure we always had everything we needed. The food was also done quickly for the amount of people we had.
Would definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

Wow, the food is great! But I wouldn’t reccomend taking à discretion for your own safety, because it is so addictive. I ended up eating 3 ½ portions, too much. The server was really friendly, only the guy who cooked the teppanyaki could’ve been a little friendlier.

Das KL Teppanyaki ist ein modern gestyltes asiatisches Restaurant in der Nähe vom Pelikanplatz.
In Mitten der Zürcher City wurde im Frühling 2011 das KL Teppanyaki eröffnet und fand ganz schnell seinen Anschluss in der Zürcher Gastronomie. Mit schlichten Formen und indirekter Beleuchtung wirkt das Lokal sehr modern, in der Mitte des Raumes ist eine Bar wo die Köche vor dem Gast die Speisen zubereiten.
Bei den Lunch Gerichten ist sogar eine Misosuppe inklusive und auch sonst ist der Service sehr zuvorkommend, auch wenn um die Mittagszeit viel los ist.
Am Abend ist die Karte ein bisschen grösser, mit Kleinigkeiten als Vorspeise wie klassisch Wan Tans oder auch Gyoza Chicken Teppanyaki, diese Dinger sind gebratene Pouletteigtaschen mit Reisessig und Soja Sauce.
Es besteht auch die Möglichkeit alles mit ins Büro oder nach Hause zu nehmen, was mir auch gut gefällt weil es mal nicht ein typischer Asia Take Away ist. Das Essen ist wirklich gut und die Qualität sehr hoch, auch die Auswahl an Speisen ist mal etwas Neues.
Kleiner Tipp bei schönem Wetter öffnet das KL Teppanyaki die Fensterfront und man sitzt halb drin halb draussen, sehr angenehm.
