I have no idea what BHG stands for? The best I could come up with was Big Hairy German, but I didn’t see any to confirm this. BHG have duvet skills like no other. They won’t try and pull the wool over your eyes! A large selection of bedding merchandise and reasonable prices. The assistant was very helpful in helping me with my numerous annoying duvet questions. As with departments stores — it is full of the usual departments which I will investigate later. For now, it is time to try out this new duvet.

The old BHG was a very dated looking department store and the selection betrayed the Chinese roots of the new owners. They’ve gone through a serious renovation however and oh my what a change. Everything is now super bright, neatly laid out and organised. It’s poshed up. And some of the most visible changes are on the third floor which used to be the household good department. It’s now got a small very nice curated stationery department with a lot of cutesy Japanese sourced wares including nice washi tape, vintage style stickers and lots of wallets and fabric cases for pencils and electronic gear. The kidults section has a great selection of board games and Lego sets as well as the flat metal model kits I’ve only seen in hobby shops and Japan. Even better for the beauty nuts is the girly cosmetic sections with Japanese and Korean brands organised under categories such as foundation, powder etc. some of the Japanese brands I haven’t seen elsewhere in singapore. The buyer knows her stuff. Will definitely be back to check out the other offerings!
