The famous carrot cake at Chomp Chomp Hawker Centre is popular for its oyster omelette and white carrot cake. What makes this dish, consisting of just egg, kueh, chye poh and spring onions so special is that the stall has mashed up the kueh thoroughly, which allows the sauces to soak in. They also use the sweet type of chye poh, which is slightly more expensive than the standard salty ones. With all the extra effort in preparation and ingredients and strong wok fire, chomp chomp store 36 carrot cake is crispy on the outside, mashy with bits of sweet chye poh, egg and spring onion makes it one one of the best chye tao kueh I’ve ever tasted!

At first look, this regular– looking carrot cake stall with no ‘real’ stall name doesn’t seem all that impressive. On closer look, you will notice that the stall has won a couple of food awards and their carrot cake certainly live up to their name. I’m a fan of their black carrot cake. It is well fried with just the right sweetness level and an equal distribution of crispiness on some parts of the carrot cake. The best part of it is that the chef is very generous with the amount of eggs used. — A very luring factor for egg lovers! The stall owner remembers every single complicated order like ‘less oil’, ‘extra chilli’ etc., so fire away with all your extra requests for your ‘personalized’ carrot cake.
