Nice ambience, ordered a ton of beer on promotion(1+1) which was cool! The fries are not great at all! The food is quite mediocre. The service is okay as well.

Definitely an a-ok choice in the Holland Village area. Admittedly, I came here when I wasn’t super hungry so I probably didn’t assess the food as highly had I been starving. Still, there were some slight issues with the service and food here. I’ve been to the Orchard Central smaller Everything With Fries location a couple of times where they serve only sandwiches and fries. The Holland Village location — their flagship– is much more of a proper restaurant and has an expanded(and slightly more expensive) menu. The interior of the shop is very minimalist in a trendy way. One thing I noticed is that the restaurant was full of(what seemed to be) young Singaporeans rather than expats, which is the typical crowd in restaurants in the area. I think its because EwF seems to have somewhat cheaper prices and better value for food than surrounding restaurants. The chunky peanut butter coleslaw piqued my interest and when it arrived I was shocked. I was expected a smallish portion of slaw that my partner and I could share for an appetizer but what we received was a huge platter of slaw that could be easily shared between 3 – 4 people. The slaw itself had a different flavor– the slaw sauce was indeed mostly peanut butter and that overwhelmed everything else. It was a little too sweet for me. I was hoping it’d be more savory. I could only eat about ¼ of the serving even though I was pretty hungry. Our mains came out only about 2 minutes after the slaw which was awkward timing. Like the slaw, the serving sizes are HUGE. I ordered a grilled ham and cheese and my partner got the tandoori chicken sandwich. The grilled ham and cheese was a triple decker sandwich made with plenty of ham but it was a little scant on cheese in my opinion. Also, there was too much bread. I’m sure they add the extra slice to make it seem more substantial but the ratio between bread and filling was really off. Otherwise, it fulfilled my craving for a salty, cheese-melty sandwich. It came with sour cream and onion fries which were scantly dressed with the toppings, but the texture of the fries themselves was pretty good and crunchy. I didn’t try my partner’s sandwich but he seemed to enjoy it. I did try his smoked sea salt fries and they were far better than mine. Thick, salty, with a hint of smokey sweetness. If I came again, I’d probably sub my main’s fries with those. I also got their homemade lemonade, which was nice and sour but sadly came out about 10 minutes AFTER my mains despite being ordered with the rest of my meal. Really weird timing with that one. Overall, it seems like Everything With Fries serves decent food for a better price than most of the restaurants in the area. There were a few timing peculiarities but otherwise, it was an alright meal.

Cheap and decent food, I used to love dining here! I remembered couple of years back before this place was renovated, I love the old menu(still available on new menu!) for it’s awesome grilled salmon, soft on the inside and well crisp on the outside, coupled with a bunch of fries which I can never finish on my own! Visited this place again after my bestie’s grad, newly renovated with new menu. We tried the HJK burger which was recommended by a friend, and upgraded the wasabi fries to truffle fries(because us girls just love it truffled!). The taste of HJK burger was great, but too overwhelming that we could not finish the burger shared between both of us. Positively, yeah, the portion is huge! Negatively, it’s very jerlat(Singaporean slang for feeling sick after eating too much of something!), oily and chucks of fats in the meat. Fries were awesome, because truffle fries never fails. We also ordered the battered tofu salad which we couldn’t finish as well. I suggest… That you don’t batter your tofu. The tofu within is squishy and the texture is simply weird. Katong jelly drink is SOUR. Overall, I love the atmosphere and attitude of the ever friendly staff. Food wise, I would think it’s inconsistent. I’ll be back still, because I believed that the other items on the menu are better.

Got a table outside because we had 6 people. The seats were comfy and the atmosphere was very breezy, not uncomfortable at all. Ordered the giant HJK(Har Jeong Kai) burger as I was already a big fan of their HJK nuggets. The burger came in a set with wasabi fries, so I thought, why not? The burger did not dissapoint. It really was quite huge, with a generous sized patty. Though a bit on the oily side, I was thoroughly satisfied with the burger. The fries on the other hand, were extremely salty. They tasted something like McDonalds’ fries because of the powder sprinkled all over. I’m guessing that powder is almost completely made of MSG. Some bites were so overwhelmingly salty that I gave up eating the fries instead and drank as much water as I could to wash down the taste. Overall a place with good value for money burgers and nice atmosphere, though the fries which it is known for could really be improved.

Not my favorite place in Holland Village but an acceptable choice if there’s no space to be gotten elsewhere. My main complaint is that the food tastes highly processed. My mushroom burger came with a standard, processed mushroom sauce for pasta. The lamb burger I tried here was decent, but didn’t have a very fresh lamb-y taste. Finally the fries, which this place should be really good at, were soggy. This place does, however, have potential. If they could somehow make their food taste less processed and, somehow, freshly made, it could be a real favorite in my books!

Absolutely disgusting, chicken was not fully cooked. The fries are nothing special. Desserts are poor as well. One of the worst restaurants in Singapore.

Lamb burger with shoe string fries are my favorite dish to order at this joint. The high ceiling can be an issue if you prefer somewhere more quiet because when crowded it traps all sound and keeps it reverberating through out the place.

Looking at the name alone, we thought this place would have really good fries. It didn’t. The fries here taste like any other diner fries in America and there’s nothing special about them, even with their variety of seasoning like curry and garlic. We ordered two mains– chicken Sandwich(forgot the name and they don’t have a website to use as reference) and pork belly– and it was mediocre. We ordered the pork belly plate thinking that it’d be some kind of juicy pork belly sandwich, but it literally just came out as a big chunk of of meat on the plate. I guess this is a culture shock in that I didn’t know pork belly meat was eaten alone, like a steak. The service was slow, though friendly. Overall, it was way below expectations and moving on to other plethora of restaurants in Holland!

Owned by the folks behind Awfully Chocolate, EwF, like its predecessor, does not disappoint. I love their concept, and I think its genius. Afterall, what completes a meal better than crisp, golden fries? The curry fries are my favourite. I usually order the shoestring ones, but on occasion when they’d run out and I had to have the straight cut fries, they werent too bad either. Desserts wise, I’ve tried their nutella tart(too thick, I think, but good for sharing) and this pandan cake with cream(gorgeous). Service is generally good. The managers(in pink shirts) are attentive, can multi-task really well and sensitive to the needs of the customers. I wouldnt say the same for the girls they hire though– one girl in particular displayed very bad attitude when reminded that she forgot to serve us our drinks. This was after she obviously knew that we were trying to catch her attention having walked past us a few times and choosing to serve the other table(of non-Singaporeans). The good thing about this place is that it stays open until 1.30– a perfect place to get some comfort food after a night of drinking.

This is one of my favourite places to go in Holland Village when we can’t think of anywhere to eat. It’s really sufficient to share a serving for two. My favourite is the chicken tandoori sandwich. It comes in a generous portion of a square sandwich cut into two, I can’t imagine finishing it all by myself, since there’s also the fries to get to! You can choose shoestring or straight cut for the fries, I prefer shoe string curry fries, pair that with the chicken tandoori sandwich and you get a really sumptious indian-influenced all-american meal. Also, don’t miss out on the egg soup — there is this delicious crispy egg net on the soup that is just really irresistably addictive. The place can be packed in the evenings, so it might be safer to book but you can always try your luck if you’re looking for just a table for two.

Everything with Fries is a really value for money place to go to. Their portions are huge and hard to finish and very satisfying. Its called Everything with Fries so its no surprise that everything you order comes with fries. Chose from a main like salmon, spaghetti or ham and cheese sandwich and chose your fries. You can chose from straight cut or thick fries and different flavors like curry, sour cream and onion or cheese. I personally like the curry the best. Their desserts are also pretty great here. Try out their nutella tarts and their yummy milkshakes! Lots of students and a younger crowd usually come to this outlet in Holland Village.

I ordered a serving of fries($ 3.90) and was amazed at their generosity. Over here, fries are an accompaniment, rather than an enhancement, to a meal. A full meal here normally consists of a tender-lovingly prepared burger on a large platter, with the rest of the space filled abundantly with E.W.F’s signature shoestring fries(or straight-cuts, if you prefer the thicker variety). Besides having the freedom to pick how you want your fries to be cut, you can decide how you want them to taste! Those who would like their fries to be as crisp as possible will appreciate the selection of 6 dry, powder seasonings that E.W.F had painstakingly researched and tweaked to perfection(Curry and Sweet & Sour Onion being the standouts). Their desserts are also a must-have in my opinion — their Nutella Tart and Mille Feuille getting major creativity points!

Everything With Fries is a cheap and decent food option located in the bustling Holland Village area. Its specialty is — of course, fries. Try their shoe cut fries with curry seasoning. It’s pretty awesome, and makes for a filling supper snack. The restaurant of course does serve other food items — their lamb burger is pretty satisfying as well, and their desserts are always more than welcomed at my table. Everything With Fries is a restaurant that will not burst your wallet, and it’s the perfect place to go and grab grub food to line your stomach before heading to the bars in the Holland Village area.

I’m gonna let you in to a secret. The secret to this Holland Village branch of Everything With Fries is that they have the best salmon EVER. It was an accidental find. I had ordered the«NZ Wild Salmon» among the mains that they offer, and when it arrived it just looked amazing. I then placed a slice in my mouth and it was mindblowing. The salmon literally melted away on my tongue. It was lightly breaded with cream sauce and a side of fries and caesar salad. For less than $ 20 this is a super value for money meal as well! I told all my friends and colleagues and they were blown away as well. This branch at Holland V is also perpetually crowded. Servers are a bit slow during peak hours but its ok, as long as you order your salmon and it arrives before you. The HV branch also do not have burgers like the one at Orchard Central which operates like a burger joint. This one is more of a Western food place. I must say the owner of Everything with Fries, who’s the owner of Awfully Chocolate, as managed to do well with these EwF chains. They are always bustling and the food they serve is simple and just soul good. Go try the secret. And let a friend know.
