Simply one of the worst pizza’s I have ever had, It was a Margarita with buffalo mozzarella, The mozzarella was hard to find, the basil even harder to find. Soggy bottom and at $ 38 easily the most expensive pizza I ever had. The wine was even more disappointing, a 2011 Valpolicella that was almost soda pop. I found the service pretentious and if my «made in Italy» wife had been with me she would have likely walked out. If you have a lot of money and really don’t understand Italian food and culture then this place would be OK, but if you love Italy and the culture then you will not likely be impressed. Also, $ 68 for one small glass of wine and an awful pizza was not my idea of how to spend my birthday!

iL Cielo is located on the 24 floor in Hilton Hotel. We had dinner there to celebrate Father’s Day. The appetizers were excellent. We had truffle pizza, salmon tartar n eggplant. All highly recommended especially the thin crust pizza. For main we had lobster pasta(excellent), iberico pork(succulent) n beef(not too good) Overall still a wonderful restaurant with great food n a wonderful view of the city. Highly recommended !

This is a high rating for a restaurant not regularly mentioned amongst the best in Singapore, but I feel that the culinary team has a lot of potential, and the front of house team are amongst the best. I’ve dined here twice, and I recommend it to most of my friends without hesitation. The first time was quite early on, when the restaurant was still quite an ‘undiscovered gem’, and my dining companions and I were floored by the view when we stepped into the restaurant. il Cielo is located by the rooftop pool at the top of the Hilton Singapore, and from there you get a gorgeous birds eye view of Orchard Road. If it’s not raining, have a drink at the bar, look down on the cars zipping by, and marvel at how different Orchard Road looks from an elevated perspective. So. The first time I went, I found a piece of steel wool in my pasta. That’s huge, and I was quite taken aback. But, credit where credit’s due. They recovered excellently, offered to change my main to anything else on the menu(I declined), and then followed up by offering a free salad while I waited for my main. They also then comped our desserts. All this without asking, prompting, or any raised voices what so ever. A genuine attempt at apologising for a mistake. In addition to that of course, the food was excellent. I highly recommend the trio of scallops, as well as the trio of poultry breast. Also highly recommended is the Pizza il Cielo, a Napoletana with Maine lobster and caviar. The best dish I’ve ever had at il Cielo though, was on the seasonal truffle menu. Asparagus, topped with a 65 degree poached egg, shaved black truffles, served with what tasted like a Hollandaise espuma. The combination of flavours, the earthiness of the truffles, the foam, the perfectly cooked egg, it was a sublime combination. This is quite possibly one of the ten best dishes I’ve ever had, and to be honest, I was definitely not expecting to experience this well composed a dish here. The restaurant IS tiny though, so be prepared that if you call on Saturday, they might be full.(It’s happened twice to me.) That all said, my most recent trip, I just Choped it. Worked out fine!
