Best pepper crab in town and the chilli crab was pretty darn good to add. The mantou went really well with the chilli crab sauce. Always worried about these places being tourist traps but I think it is well worth it. Pricey but not overly so.

CHILICRABSOGOODDOE. I know this place is known for their black pepper crab, but it was my first time in Singapore and my last day there. I had to try the famed chili crab. We started with some peanuts at the table(which I assumed were free but were actually not) and there were wet wipes at the table. Got some draft Tiger beers. Man that beer sucks but it’s still beer. We got about a kilo crab(I think it was ~$ 70/kg) with fried mantou, some baby gailan, and tiny shrimp fried rice. The waitress also got me a tiny bowl of the black pepper sauce for me to try. When the chili crab came out I almost cried. It smelled so good and looked amazing. I saw some other people with bibs on and asked for one so I could get the true experience(and the waitress kindly tied it off for me). I tried just a little bit of the chili crab sauce and died. The next 30 minutes were a blur as I clawed(pun intended) my way to the meat. Omg so good. The gailan was soooo good too. Shrimp fried rice tasted awesome with the black pepper sauce. Omnomnom.

Best ever Singapore Black Pepper Crab! Five Stars! So many of my Singapore friends told me to eat at Long Beach. And in particular, I needed to get the Black Pepper Crab. I think I screamed when I took my first bite of the food because it was ooh so delicious! I ordered the Scottish(something) crab prepared with the black pepper sauce. The sauce originated from this restaurant and they know how to do it well. Tasted like pepper + butter + fish sauce. OMG fingers were so dirty and it was fun to eat the crab. I also ordered the sour sap and lemon Jell-O for dessert. Skip it. Fancy presentation, but not memorable. Food Grade: A+ Service Grade: A+ Worth the Money Grade: A+ Overall Impression Grade: A+

Best pepper crab in Singapore. On the way to the airport, this is a must visit before flying out of Changi airport. Most of seafood is quite excellent. Food quality overshadows service lapses.

This is the best Singaporean food that I have had so far. It was fairly expensive but if you have the means to afford it then Long Beach is definitely the way to go. My favorite was their chili grab and and the garlic spinach appetizer. Be sure to dip the rolls they bring out in the chili cap sauce and enjoy!

We were passing through Singapore after a cruise and friends urged us to meet them for lunch. They are here often and recommend it to everyone. The appetizer was drunken prawns. Unfortunately they kill them with wine in front of you to demonstrate freshness. The dish was good. We then had pepper crab and chili crab. Both were tasty but too spicy for my boring taste buds. It was pretty interesting: a slice of life as they say. Service was professional and friendly enough. Handling crab in the shell in a sauce is a challenge for me. Locals nearby had no apparent problems.

Very disappointing black pepper crab and sea food meal at Long Beach Main@ECP. Don’t fall for its captain’s recommendation of the set meal. Go to No Sign Board Sea Food Resturant@Geylang Road for better Pepper Crabs, sea food and satisfying meal experience. I have tasted both resturants and find No Sign Board miles ahead in food quality, taste and value for money.

Usually we travellers go to Jumbo. This time we want to try something new… Chill crab — comparing to jumbo, this is more spicy, taste less tomato but more egg-y. Personally I prefer Jumbo as I couldn’t take too spicy. Black pepper crab — this is good and similar to Jumbo, but I give my award to Long Beach as it is the«creator» of black pepper crab. The crabs are good deal, around SGD60ish per 1.1kg crab. As the rain got soon heavy there’s nowhere to go we ordered 2 freshly cut Thai mangos, which are sweet and chilled but not cheap — SGD10 each. Enjoyable meal!

It’s all about Crab. If you have to go there, just have the crab because everything else is crap — overpriced, tasteless, bland and the service is appalling. Here’s a thing, it’s not rocket science to serve an appetizer before the main course, neither is it impossible for main courses to turn up at the same time and here’s a thing, if you know the main course is going to take time don’t put the rice out because it’s going to be cold and stodgy by the time the food arrives. I had Red Grouper, the fish was fresh and well presented but covered in a sauce that made it in edible. All in all, stick with the overpriced crab dishes, avoid everything else because it’s rubbish.

Hi there seafood lovers. Big Larry here to review the best seafood restaurant on the East Coast. I lived in this area for a buncha years and this is my go-to place. Tell the cab driver you want to go to the restaurant next to the tennis courts on the ECP and you will be there. You should know that this is a locals review. Don’t expect America. It’s friggin’ Singapore. It is muggy and hot but the food is amazing. Everybody who lives here gets the Pepper Crab. Chili Crab is for wimps. SriLankin huge crab covered in a sauce made from crushed black pepper and it is, without a doubt, the best pepper crab on the island. Here is a tip not on the menu: call ahead 24 hours and get the Herb Chicken. Only the residents know about it and it is heaven, with ginsing and all kinda herbs good for the yang(if you get my drift) but exquisite flavor. Everybody swoons over the drunken shrimp, but it is completely a tourist thing and, honestly, I never saw a resident ordering it. Try the deep fried whole grouper Shanghai style for a real treat and the whitefish rice and you will be in heaven. Please understand, leave your preconceptions an the door and immerse yourself in Singaporean culture, LAH, this ain’t LA, people and if you expect it to be you will be sadly disappointed. It’s another country and they have their own way of doing things. So get in the vibe, sweat a bit and enjoy some of the best seafood this wonderful island has to offer. Enjoy!

yum yum YUM! Yay for Chili Crab and Black pepper crab; both are tasty, but I liked the chili crab much more. Get ready to get down and dirty with the food. There is no way to avoid covering every square inch of your hands with the sauce. Gotta soak up the the chili sauce with the soft absorbent doughy buns.

Brought by a friend to enjoy crab like none other. It’s an expensive option and it takes a good amount of endurance to get to the meat, but the payoff is glorious. The pepper crab and chili crab were the clear winners for me. They both had a perfect level of spiciness. Your hands will get messy, you will have to work for it, but it’s worth it when you carve out a bite. Service wasn’t quite on point(hence 4 stars) missing a few of our asks and nuanced orders with slower ticket times.

Amazing crab, steamed fish, Scottish razor clams, deep fried crawfish and so much more. It’s also walking distance to the beach and most of the tables have a great view of the ocean. This location can’t be beat!

Why would anyone pass up an opportunity to dine at Long Beach?! This institution is rightfully OG/Original Gangsta status, as they created the famous pepper crab and perfected the recipe. I’ve tried the pepper crab at Jumbo, and although good, I liken it to Britney Spears’ body in 2008.* Walking in, you see a wall filled with huge tanks, all containing wonderful tasting denizens of the sea. It’s not uncommon to have to wipe the drool off your face before sitting down. Obviously, you must order the pepper crab when you come here. As for sides, the drunken shrimp is okay(nothing really to Unilocal about) and the Yang chow fried rice is pretty good. I found the chili crab a lot spicier than Jumbo’s, and I definitely had to take a break every few minutes, praying that the burning in my mouth will slightly subside. I much prefer Jumbo’s creamier chili crab, with less of a kick. But hey, if you’re all about that spice life, then Long Beach’s chili crab is for you! On to the service. The first time we stopped by, it was at the beginning of lunch on a weekend. It was pretty quiet, and our waitress was quite attentive. We were always checked up on, our plates were regularly cleared, and everything was set up correctly before we started eating. However, the second time we were there, it was Saturday night and it was quite a clusterfuck. The restaurant was super busy and the servers seemed frazzled.(Notable example: once seated, our server asked what we wanted to drink, and before we could even answer he walked away.) They didn’t give us a cracker immediately, which delayed us in utterly enjoying this thing of beauty in front of us, along with the obligatory action of «Let me take this entire plate of sauce and pour it all over my face.» So bottom line, choose the pepper crab, make a reservation on popular nights like Saturday, the wet napkins provided have a picture of Miss Intercontinental wearing a one-piece swimsuit and carrying a tray with 2 crabs on it(not sure what that’s supposed to mean???) and it’s Britney, bitch. *…as opposed to Long Beach’s pepper crab, which is like Britney Spears’ body at the 2000MTVVMA’s. Youtube it. Yes, it’s THAT good. You’re welcome.

I had lunch here with some colleagues. The room is large and functional. It is set up to allow a number of large families or groups to share meals. The service was professional and polite. I would not necessarily refer to it as overly friendly though. This was my first experience with the local staple of black pepper crab. It was also my first time having chili crab. i enjoyed them both. My favorite though was the chili crab. They both rank as some of the best crab I’ve eaten. However, my absolute favorite part of the meal was the razor clams. These were amazing. I could of eaten a dozen of them. The clams, the garlic, now that was pretty much perfection. Overall, nice enough ambiance and decent service coming together with some delicious seafood. Oh, and a bib, that makes any meal more fun.

This place can get very packed. So do remember to make reservation. Even with reservation, you might still have to wait for the other diners to clear before you get your sitting. The food here is pretty good. Well, a more«atas» tze char restaurant with good service. Enjoyed the food here especially their Black Pepper Crab. If they can’t do the black pepper crab well, I will be really disappointed with them. After all, Long Beach Seafood Restaurant did invented this local dish.
