I read somewhere about the Kranji Heritage Trail which allows the public to visit participating farms for free. Qian Hu Fish Farm was one of the few that I picked to visit. I reached the farm not aware that it was quite a well known place for fish lovers, the farm occupies about a football field and there are a few areas that the public can walk about. Firstly, they have a outdoor prawning place which you will be able to spot the moment you are in their car park. But I believe people don’t come here to prawn, they will be more interested in the different variety of fish that the farm offers. We visited the Fish Gallery first in an enclosed area with a lot of fish tank. If you see any fish you like, you are feel free to use the net provided beside the fish tank to pick the fish you want. It is really countless as to how many variety of fish there are. I have visited fish shops but I feel if you are interested to rear some fish and can’t decide which is better, you should come over as there are more varieties to choose, whether is it small or big fishes, you will sure find something you want. The price of fish are not really cheap but consider around the same price as other places. Going in deeper, there is an area where you can buy fish food to feed the fishes and tortoises around. You will also be able to enjoy the fish spa for a price of $ 10 for half an hour. While walking around, you will be sure to spot big fish tank where really beatiful fishes are displayed, with some never seen before speicies. Other than that, there is also fish accessories shop and a café to rest for a moment before heading back.

It’s a pretty huge fish farm in the Sungei Tengah area, which is tucked away in a corer a bit further off from Choa Chu Kang. Most people go here to look at fish, or to catch them and buy them fresh from the water. It seems to be a popular father-son activity too, which is pretty cute. Also popular with local uncles, most taxi drivers will know the way here because of Qian Hu’s popularity, but expect to pay $ 7 or $ 8 from Choa Chu Kang if you take that route. Alternatively, you can cat ch a shuttle bus from the interchange about every hours. Check out the schedule here: You can also make use of the shuttle bus to get into the other worldly environment of Sungei Tengah and explore everything else there is; you’ll probably find a part of Singapore you didn’t know existed.
