When I was young, my parents will bring me to Bras Basah Complex now and again to browse and purchase books for themselves and me. Seng Yew Book Store will always be our last stop. This place is more than a book store. In fact, the main attraction for me in this stop is their huge variety of stationery. The whole shop is filled with stationery tucked here and there into various corners. This is the place where school going girls come to get their pretty pink pens, pencil cases, etc. so that they can brag in school. The place has not changed much since nearly 20years ago and even though the owner has passed away, his wife(who is quite fierce) still mans the counter with her unsmiling face. For those born in the 1970s to the 1990s, this is the place to come for a huge dose of nostalgia.
