The dry version is tastier. The price is very good. You can get way more items here for the same price you pay in the food courts. The sauces are excellent. You can scoop more sauce in a small bowl if what they give you is not enough. The home made fish or meat ball(I can’t tell what it is) is to die for. It has none of the fillers you get in other places. It is softer and has an addicting taste to it. The wait can be a while if you are there at the wrong time. Recently it has been quite fast when I get there around 8.10am on weekdays, usually just 1 – 3 bowls ahead of mine. Don’t forget — they are closed on Fridays. If you forget and find it closed, hop over to the stall across for a real economical breakfast(fried bee hoon which comes with free veg for $ 1 or $ 1.50).

As old school as it gets. This place serves up a nostalgic bowl of Yong tau foo(ytf) that is not the typical bowl which you get these days in the food court. Every piece of ytf is homemade and not thawed from a frozen packet. It is like you are eating what your grandma made…(ok, my grandma was not a Hakka but I am imagining that is how it’ll taste like) The stall name is special chilli and the chilli is awesome! Most of the regulars use a small bowl for extra chilli as the usual saucer of chili is just not enough. Come before noon to avoid disappointment. They are usually sold out by 12.30pm. Even when I get there at noon, there is usually not much selection left. Oldie but goodie!
