Stayed here for one night on a 20 hour layover in Singapore. Its actually quite nice for being a hostel(well, as nice as a hostel can get anyway.) First off, according to a local friend, the hostel is located quite«far» from everything. I can’t really attest to that statement since I only stayed a night and didn’t get to do too much. As far as I can see, its in a decent location. Its basically right next to Little India and right down the street there is a Hawker center(think food court) with lots of food options available. Its also about a 5 min taxi ride from Clarke Quay(the nightlife bars/clubs area). Since I really didn’t stay on the premise much(was out most of the night), I can’t comment on the travelers atmosphere. Thought I did notice quite a few people hanging out in the lobby around dinner time. I stayed in the shared dorm which had 5 bunk beds(ten beds total) on the first floor. The doors require key entry, but the whole time I was here, it was propped open with a doorstop; meaning anybody could’ve walked in and taken things, which was quite easy since there are ten roommates that come and go all the time. Aside from this, the beds were quite clean. and there are two power plugs by every bed that uses the UK power outlet. Has free wifi throughout the building. If I remember correctly, the front desk is not available 24 hours. So don’t expect help or checking in/out in the middle of the night. The restrooms were a little limited, with about two or three shower rooms, and about five restrooms total including the shower rooms. Remember to grab some toothbrushes /soap at the front desk during business hours. Because once front desk closes, they take those amenities away. The lobby area had a few PCs for people to use and some tables /chairs. There was also a little game room with your usual Xbox /entertainment systems and a few sofas. The kitchen had a microwave and toaster. Pretty nice touch on a hostel. Overall, it’s a good hostel and I would stay here again.
