Triple-O’s

I’ve been hearing about Triple O’s burgers for a while now, and the reviews I’ve been reading of their other places are pretty drool-​inducing. So when I heard about a new joint opening in town, I was pretty pumped. This meant I wouldn’t have to travel into the CBD, or all the way to Star Vista… EXCITES.
So we zoom in for a quick one — you know me: busy busy busy — and they felt a little… unsure of themselves? The staff seemed a little unsure, and the process felt a little clunky, even though my order went through relatively smoothly. I guess they’re ironing out the kinks. I was a little worried that we might have to wait for food when I saw the few tables of other patrons all still waiting despite me taking a while to order… but after a short wait, everyone got their food, including me. Cue big smiles.
I unwrap the burger, and it is a little disappointing. Sure, the package looks decently large, but as I look closer, I realise the patty is thin, and the height is from a really solid wedge of lettuce. No doubt this is a well constructed burger, but surely I shouldn’t paying $ 10 for a burger with a thin patty and LOTS of veg… unless I ordered it specifically that way.
The fries thankfully were of good quality — crisp on the outside, and a little fluffy inside, and tasty. They offer poutine as an upgrade option on your fries, so if course I had to get some. But these were a little more like cheese fries, with gravy — not cheese curds, like how I hear it’s meant to be. But I don’t complain, since their poutine was pretty tasty too.
Okay so with the $ 9.90 cheeseburger meal ($ 8.90 without fries and drink… why would you get that?), I’m going to have to come here sparingly… if only they grew their patty a leeeeeetle more…
