Cara Day Spa

Looked at myself in the mirror one day and decided it was about time to get my eyebrows done… I was too busy to look into forums for advice and turned to a friend who had been here for a while — she recommended this spa and there I was making an appointment for eyebrow threading.
On the day of the appointment I left work early so that I could make it at the only slot they had for me that day. As much as I rushed I found myself walking in circles as it proved difficult to find them (I can’t agree more with the above review, they aren’t easy to find!). I had no idea what their prices were or how it looked like. I arrived drenched in sweat and late, surely. That seemed to be no problem as they kindly led me to their sitting area — shared with their feet therapies room — and offered some water (thanks!). Prior to them leading me to a room I asked for their prices and I was pleased to know they were cheaper than I thought and definitely cheaper than other spas that looked very similar to this one.
The therapist was friendly and she enjoyed conversation (I like this, it takes your mind away from the pain). She seemed professional and finished the work quickly.
So, with my heart rate now at a resting level I looked at myself and felt satisfy. When I came out of the room they offered me some tea and I enjoyed a few minutes in there: the vibe is really peaceful.
I liked this place, the staff is friendly, the service is good and prices are fair. But for me it lacks that extra bit that makes it great. I haven’t found that spa yet though.

I don’t have a regular facial place — I’m on somewhat of a quest to look for a perfect and affordably-​priced one. A couple of months back, I decided to give Cara Day Spa a go.
I did some research before hand, comparing it to others and reading reviews on it online. Ultimately, I decided on Cara Day Spa because of its convenient location in Soho, and also because it was slightly cheaper than the others. I picked the most standard facial — just the hydrating one, as my skin always feels in need of being moisturized.
Cara Day Spa was not easy to find! Even with the location and Google Maps at hand, it took me quite some time to find it. Cara is on the second floor of an old building, and I missed the entrance of it because it was so small. I even called Cara to find out if they are close by anything that I might recognize!
The spa is not very big — the waiting area is combined with the manicure and pedicure area, so there are a couple of big chairs laid out. The place was small, but clean. There was a lot of Nepalese (I think?) décor and it gave the spa kind of an exotic and spiritual feel. I was led into the facial room right after filling in a short form.
The facialist was very nice and seemed to be pretty experienced and knew what she was doing. The facial was standard — nothing super spectacular — but it did do its job of making my skin feel restored and hydrated afterwards.
The service here was not much compared to other spas where you’re treated you like a queen — given an option of different kinds of teas on arrival, discussing your skincare routine in detail etc. If that’s what you’re looking for, Cara isn’t for you because it’s a relatively ‘no-​frills’ place. Even though I enjoyed my facial, I haven’t been back to Cara since. Like I said, it was decent but just didn’t have the ‘wow’ factor that I have been looking for in a facial!
