Charles K. Kao Auditorium

So this review is really more around getting to and from the auditorium. The reason being, getting to and from are big parts of the experience and they suck. By all counts the auditorium is a nice place.
We got there via a cab from our hotel, the hotel staff instructed the cabbie where to take us, which was good, cab drivers as a whole spoke next to no english during our trip to HK.
So far so good, he dropped us off where we needed. The reason we took a cab was because the science park, where the auditorium resides is between two MTR stations, neither of which are within even a walkers walking distance.
Now comes the worst of the entire experience. Trying to return to our hotel.
There’s a cab stand right outside the auditorium, how convenient, right? The hotel was too close basically, no cabbie wanted the fare, and with their nonexistant english most either ignored us, or just spoke in Chinese not caring we didn’t understand. We tried having someone write a taxi card with the address and phone in cantonese, no joy. Finally after the most frustrating 45 minutes of my life we found a bus that went to a train station and back tracked a few stops.
Anyhow like I said, the auditorium itself is fine, but the experience of getting to or from it sucks, which to me lowers the score massively. If you have a car or a ride you can depend on, cool.
