This is a premier super market in HK. The stuff here more usually more expensive than other super markets, but the quality and variety is just unbeatable.

City Super has a few outlets throughout Hong Kong. This is the high end supermarket in Hong Kong. If you’re looking for products from different parts of the world this is the place to go. They emphasize on foreign products, for local produce go elsewhere. The quality of the products is of course very good, as well as the price tags. It can get very expensive!

Certainly an ex-pat’s paradise, this supermarket is definitely high-end and heavily imported. City’super is a very neat and clean store with a bit of a department store design to it. I did appreciate the small stations and kiosks throughout the store, along with the standard supermarket aisles and shelves. I loved the delicate and fancy pastries and candies that seemingly entice the senses. If you needed imported groceries and produce, this is probably one of the more better places to get it. If I was living in HK and missed having romaine lettuce from California, I’d come here.

This weekend, I made the realization that City Super is my favorite premium grocer in Hong Kong. Yep — I even prefer it to the Great Food Hall! What has City Super done to earn this designation? For one, the store is so smarty laid-out. Aisles are micro-labeled with what you’ll find on their shelves, so you know exactly where to source ‘honey’ or ‘Japanese noodles’. The selection is deep and diverse. Coffee, cold beverages, yogurt, you name it — you can bet that City Super is carrying more varieties and brands of whatever item you’re seeking. The juice bar is awesome and convenient — of COURSE I’d like a freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice to power my shopping experience. Fancy an adult beverage? The wine and craft beer selection is among the best in HK. A few months ago, City Super began carrying one of my all-time favorite beers, Hitachino White Nest Ale. The lines at this location tend to be long(it is Times Square, people) but if your Octopus card is loaded or if your wallet is stocked with cash, you can access the express lane which moves fairly quickly. And if you’re in need of natural cleaning supplies, quality kitchen accessories, or tasteful holiday decorations, you can get your hands on all of that too! Stay classy, City Super.

I love City Super. Whether I’m looking for yummy snacks, cool gifts or a meal on-the-go, CS has never disappointed. We typically find ourselves in Causeway Bay. Given this, we probably have frequented the City Super location on the basement level of Times Square the most. This location can definitely get pretty crazy(especially on weekends). So if you’re claustrophobic, not a good idea to spend a lot of time here. But then again, if you have issues with small spaces packed with way too many people… you probably don’t want to be in Hong Kong anyways.

Ah, City Super reminds me of Whole Foods. If you need some comfort of «America,» drop by here for some meds, toiletries, food, etc. :) Great food court and a bunch of restaurants to select from, both downstairs and upstairs.

Awesome shopping experience with wide aisles, diverse products from everywhere In the world, tasting corners and periodic promotion events focusing on a certain a region or a festival. I come here for shopping as well as for entertainment. Their deli corner is superb for quick lunches offering dishes that you just can’t get anywhere else in Hong Kong such as honey baked ham, German pork knuckle and farm to table dishes. Four stars instead of five because: 1) everything is overpriced so you help them pay their rent and 2) they still don’t have kale! Major disappointment!

City Super is SUPER! This specific location also has smaller shops/kiosks within the market. So, if you’re in the mood for some soft serve ice cream, you can get some and eat while you shop for your groceries. Another kiosk also had really cute and yummy looking cakes and tea cookies in very nice boxes — a very good gift idea! Anyway, they have all the higher quality produce here. You will pay for it. One chicken breast cost an average about 130HKD. Must be some very good tasting breast! Instead, I opted to by sausage from FRANCE. I also bought Quinoa from BOLIVIA which makes me so excited, and for 47 $HKD, that’s a well deserved gold star. LOL. The cherries from the USA that is sold here also looked really yummy too! So, they also as you can see, a lot of their products come from other countries, but you can also find the Hong Kong made products here too as well. Shopping here is a pleasant experience. Staff is always saying HELLO and are always eagerly to help. They also have a deli to get cold cuts. Their fresh seafood section does not have a big selection but still carries the basics. They also have a sushi section. Thumbs up!

Supermarket is an interesting place; it is a place where you find fresh produce, groceries as well as supplies that keep households going every day. For quite a long period of time there are only 2 large chains in Hong Kong which forms almost a monopoly in the business; the introduction of city super is definitely a break put in between and gives a breath of fresh air, something more than the expected into the market. Targeting the better off population, the selling point is definitely not the price but rather, the quality and variety of items available. Speaking of varieties, the exotic factor is vital; city super is a place where you can find herb studded cheeses selling in tubs, beverages that you normally find outside Hong Kong and greens that you would see from cooking shows abroad but never expect to see them in any local markets. City super has always been my favorite go to place when i hv time on my own; by now you should know that I’m no shopper on clothes and accessories; but food shopping is always an activity i’d like to engage in. Especially in times like christmas, the foyer right at the entrance is packed with counters selling all sort of seasonal foods and decorations, whenever i feel like i’m running out of the christmas spirit, this is the very place i come to to drink in tidings of comfort and joy~
