Decided to come here after reading the positive reviews about the Korean fusion food and unbeatable happy hour drinks. Came here at around 8:30pm on a Tuesday night, with time still left for their Happy Hour skewers special — $ 8 per skewer. There were two other people sitting outside, but no one else indoors. Was this an indication of some sort? I had also read about the packed environment, so made reservations in the last minute. When we arrived to a near-empty restaurant, I was confused. Nevertheless, we got to enjoy the cool air conditioning to ourselves. For drinks, I ordered a Red Lotus(vodka, soju, lychee liquer, and cranberry juice), while he tried the Chili Mango(red chili soju, lime soju, and mango juice). For those of you who like spicy cocktails/drinks, the Chili Mango is for you. As for the skewers, we opted for the pork and chicken skewers as we don’t eat beef. Unfortunately, the meat was tough and overcooked. The K-Pop blasting in the background didn’t exactly help to magically make the food taste better. I really wanted to like Edition as I picked the place, but the skewers turned me off. It it worth another try for the mains/sides? We’ll see…

This was one of those restaurants that I was super excited for. I went for a late lunch. The first thing that happened was a pleasant bonus of a free popcorn chicken appetizer when I checked in on Unilocal. The appetizer was very tasty, as it was accompanied by a zesty sriracha mayonnaise. For my entrée, I went against my instinct of ordering the spicy chicken wings and went with the Salt and Pepper wings. That was a mistake, as the wings were covered with some kind of floury coating that I found unpleasant. It didn’t really scream salt & pepper. The fries were very good. Crispy and salty. The service was also very pleasant. But I did find myself looking across to Chicha and wishing I was there instead. I won’t write off Edition, but I hope my next experience is a little more in line with the reputation of the restaurant.

I’d read good reviews of this place so decided to go and try to the lunch set. Despite the price tag of just $ 48hkd, the options didn’t sound that appealing compared to the à la carte menu items. My friend and I split a few items — kimchi grilled cheese, kimchi fries, popcorn chicken, Korean style roti — but we’re left a bit disappointed with all. The kimchi fries were the best item but even those were just mediocre. Maybe it’s better alongside a few drinks, which seem to be what their known for anyways.

Loves the soju cocktails. But the Wah-Mui whiskey they called it «rather hardcore» wasn’t that hardcore, yet it’s still my favorite drink of all! Loves it! Will for sure Coke back for this. Also we tried the redeemed popcorn fried chicken dips, it’s just super cute and delish. Wish to try some more dishes next time.

I have been to this gastropub few times and really fall in love with it! I have to admit the $ 38 happy hour deal is fking awesome, especially when you compare other bars in soho area. There are plenty of selections to choose from including their signature soju cocktails! Kindly ask recommendations from the super nice owners Chris and Katrina, things will never go wrong. The food they provide is in American and Korean fusion style, one of my favourites is pork belly lollipops — pork skewers comes with melting cheese in mini hot pot, yes, very evil for girls, but you just cant help to finish all after your first bite! It’s no surprise Edition is always packed, book ahead to avoid disappointment, See ya there!

I’ll ditch the fluff and get right down to it. The Kimchi fries are the bomb and the Soju is the best ever. The staff and the owners, well, they are totally cool too. Now I have to convince them to open in the U.S.

After coming here for 2 times(each time not going home without a shot of «Somak» /Soju bomb), I found this place do master the Korean fusion very well consistently. With a Korean twist, the bar menu offer a range of choice like Kimchi fries, Korean beef mini burgers, chilli wings etc which match perfectly with the cocktail n flavourly soju here. The staff are super friendly. Most of all, the happy hour starts frim 12pm till late and there is lunch set till 3pm. So you know the best time to come! Just joking, more people and even greater heap in the evening!

I saw Kevin L’s review on Edition so I decided to pay them a visit because they do have Kimchi Fries, and the other place in Hong Kong which sells it kinda sucked. Does this place meet my standards? It sure does. It’s good, but still room for improvement. This place notably has a good happy hour deal on weekdays for $ 38, and as all korean fusion places do it also has soju cocktails. Final verdict. 4 stars. Will give it 5, if they can match(or come close) the same taste as the original Chi’lantro kimchi fries in Austin

I have been to Edition many times since the soft opening, and already in the first month it has constantly been evolving with many new things to try. Going often gave me a chance to try out many of the offering the the growing menu. I love the special limited Edition items like the pork belly lolly pop. The pork belly comes out on a hot skillet of melting cheese, and it’s great for dipping for the pork or to dipping your french fries. But do get it before it runs out, since it’s limited, it sold out last night and I’ll have to go back another night to try to order it again. The drinks are great too. There are so many soju cocktails and variety to choose from. The Chilli Mango is a must try, the drink is unique and has a nice kick from the chilli infused soju. There are also more than a dozen of fruit infused Soju made from fresh fruits. This is the only place I know in Hong Kong that does this. Besides the specials, you can get Heiniken on draft, a few Korean bottled beer and all you standard drinks. For those who have been to Korea, you can get the Somek(beer and soju bomb) to remind you of this popular drink in the Korean Bar scene. The stable menu items like the Bulgogi sliders are always delicious. And don’t forget the wings, espcially on the Monday $ 5 wings night. The salt and pepper wings are crispy and tasty. With the extented happy hours from 12−9pm, and the discounted wings night, it’s a great deal. It’s a great little gem in the soho area and a great place to eat and drink before heading out to the clubs in LKF.

Ok, first of all, I have to admit I was totally here for the HKD$ 38 happy hour deal. They have a quite extended happy hours over weekdays, from 12pm to 9pm, and we were here at 6pm sharp. Branded as Korean American gastropub, surely I wanted to try both their drinks and food. The happy hours menu is off the chart — they had 27 different drinks including beer, wine, liquors, soju cocktails(and I’ll explain why I know the count so precisely…). If you check in to Unilocal you got a free popcorn chicken per table too, boom. Free stuff is always the best stuff, and the popcorn chicken was actually very good and we ended up ordering another dish. Now on a chill evening of the last day of the a long weekend, we shouldn’t really be drinking too much. But then, when the first round of drinks arrived, we were kind of skeptical about the portion of soju actually added to the cocktails. We blamed that to the Appleju where the apple juice masking the taste of the alcohol. But when we ordered the Sparkling Citron and they were still kinda of more like mocktails than cocktails, we quite shamelessly asked the staff if they could put more soju/liquors in our next round of drinks. I know, it’s only $ 38 after all… Back to the food. They were amazing. Kimichi fries was good, and from a person who actually doesn’t like kimchi ATALL, this compliment does carry a lot of weight. We tried also the spicy fried chicken wings(not spicy enough), the salt and pepper wings(VERYGOOD), cheesy kimchi sliders(good, and again from the mouth of someone who doesn’t like kimchi). Three hours passed right in front of five of us, as if the time went quicker when you were sitting at the chillaxing front door table. The drinks got better(i.e. stronger) afterwards which was definitely a plus. One of our friends wanted to challenge to finish all the drinks on the happy hour menu but we only managed to go through the right half of it. But I wouldn’t complain at all having 20 cocktails in total among five of us and still managed to get down to HKD$ 350 per person, including the food we had.

Finally! Respectable and tasty Korean inspired gastropub food in the heart of Central. Edition has some amazing grub that will satisfy anyone in the mood for some K food, but too lazy to travel on the other side of the city. The chef is a homegrown Hongkie however has studied food in both LA and Seoul, so the fusion food that is served here really hits the spot for me as I have a similar mix. The highlights of the evening: CHICKENWINGS! The wings are smothered full of flavor, cripsy, juicy and overall deliciousness. I just wish they had more of it! Check out Wings Monday which is only $ 5HKD per wing with every drink purchase. Bulgogi Sliders– also delicious. High in flavor and raw garlic and jalapenos make this tasty slider packed with a punch. I perfer even more heat with more chili, but that is easily solved by just asking for some extra jalapeño. Kimchi Grilled Cheese– so easy yet so satisfying. Grilled with two types of cheese and layered with kim chi, this really sings comfort food for me. You can add an assortment of things to the sandwich, including fried egg– perfect. I also got to try some of the special homemade Korean spicy sauce and Siracha mayo– delicious. The drinks– they have Soju infused cocktails that are sure to please. Chili Mango, Yuzu, Milkis are all quite unique. Want the whole bottle straight up? No problem– very reasonable in price. Soju not your thing? They have a regular wine, beer and cocktails list too. Chef tells me they will be having some cool happy hour deals too so stay tuned. Overall, love this small cozy space. I am a huge fan!
