This was an amazing place! We LOVED the food! So yummy, fresh, tasty! This was my favorite dim sum during my HK visit! The Xiao Long Bao were explosions of heavenly goodness like they should always be! Yummy! We loved everything we ordered. The staff were friendly, helpful, and quick. Amazing!

Although a bit on the expensive side, the price does not detract from the food. BIGNOTE: This place can be hard to find. Another reviewer posted instructions how to get it. For whatever reason, Google maps has the location at the wrong end of the street. I came here for simple things — Shanghainese noodles and xiao long bao. Both were delicious. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. If you don’t read or speak chinese, please ask for an english menu. I believe it comes with pictures for ease even for those who don’t speak or read much English.

Xiao long bao is great. I suggest you to order more. It’s 4 baos for HKD$ 40(March 2016). We ordered a few more classic Shanghaiese dishes. All were good but not super. Also, portion is a bit small.

Friendly service. Would defiantly stop buy again. This may actually be my number one pick of all our places visited on vacation. We had Spicy wonton, Shanghai dim sum and Wonton noodle soup. All really really good. I didn’t see the special crab xiao long bao mentioned by another Unilocaler:(

It is very close to the Jordan stop if you take the metro. Overall good. I’d recommend pork wonton, fried pork chop noodle, sugar and vinegar pork ribs and their vegetarian tofu skin cold dish appetizer. They only accept cash and you can’t bring in your own food or drinks. Beware of what they bring you. They brought us vegetarian egg rolls we did not order and charged us for it. It’s hard to know what the food looks like when you order because there are no pictures. They do have an English menu but I didn’t look at it. It was not a cheap lunch. I think for 4 of us, it was over $ 300HKD.

Yum, Yum, Yum! I had the pork soup dumplings, the pork potstickers and the pork and vegetable wonton soup. The dumpings and potstickers were spot on… the soup could have used a smidge more flavor/salt… The staff was efficient, but patient(with my non-chinese-speaking-ness) — they have an english menu(thankfully!). The food was hot, fresh and delicious. One cautionary tale — the potstickers ARE juicy as someone else mentioned in a review. I bit into one and squirted hot oil/juice all over my hand… and then realized i wasn’t given a napkin. When I asked for one, it cost 2HKD, which is not very much — not sure why napkins aren’t included?!? Anywho, I also wished I had some ice water(as the food was hot and my hand was burning a bit), but hindsight is always 20 – 20.) I had hot tea instead, which was refreshing in its own way :-)

Homegirl, Anita C. and our friend, San, hosted me to dinner here. WOW! Shanghinese dim sum. Forgive me, I have them order and I have no idea what to call them. However, them pot stickers with soup inside, spicy noodles in peanut sauce, flaky turnip cakes, and a yellow pastry ball with custard and powdered sugar are fabulous! Lovely people serving there. You have to go with a local, because there is very little English spoken here and no pictures to point at! LOL!

The shredded chicken with cucumbers and peanut sauce over noodles(雞絲粉皮)? Excellent. In all serious, that peanut sauce. Really, really good. You may just want to dip everything in it… which is what we do. Essentially, we ask them to leave the peanut sauce on the table and keep dipping other dishes in it. Other stuff that is good: –Shanghai dumplings –Fried potstickers(there is juice inside!) –Green onion bun with sesame –Green onion pancakes in a donut shape –Flaky turnip pastries Essentially, everything I’ve had here is good. Visitors come, and I recommend this place. People are hungry, I recommend this place. People are in this area, or not, I recommend this place. You can say I have a soft spot for Hao De Lai. Imagine the shock and disappointment I had a few months ago, when I go to their old store and thought they closed down, until I realized that they had moved down the block to a bigger store. Good service. Excellent food. Bomb peanut sauce. A winner!

I can’t rave enough about this restaurant! Let me start with the food. Oh goodness the food… I’ve been here a handful of times, and it has consistently delivered every time. Their xiao long baos are juicy, fresh, and the meat inside tastes really fresh. The skin is thin but thick enough to pickup without breaking. They also have a special crab xiao long bao which is more expensive($ 28 each). The crab meat is really tasty and fresh. One of the things that surprised me the most is the potstickers. They are perfectly pan fried to have a crispy bottom but SUPER juicy inside! That definitely pleasantly caught me off guard. Their shredded chicken with noodles and peanut sauce is another one of my favorite things here. That peanut sauce is AMAZING. I usually save it to dip all of my other food in it. There is a vegetarian roll that is extremely fresh and light. The green onion pancake is more of a green onion pancake but still very well cooked. Their deep fried food doesn’t have that stale oil taste. They have a flaky ball with turnip inside and that is really fresh, but be careful because the inside is really hot. We also ordered the hot and sour soup with wontons. The soup has quite a kick so if you’re not that into spicy foods then I would considered just ordering the wontons on their own. The wontons are really big and the cabbage and pork inside are delicious. The sweet vinegar spare ribs are falling off the bone and taste very good. All of the noodle dishes I’ve had(the Shanghai thick noodles and rice cakes) are not overly oily, and I love that texture of the noodles. They’re really chewy. The chicken soup with wontons is also a light choice that is really delicious. Lastly, you can tell the soy milk is fresh and I love that it’s just sweet enough. What else besides the amazing food? The location is fantastic, right outside of the E exit of Jordan station. The staff is very friendly and you don’t get that rushed feeling from them. The recently moved down the street so the venue itself is new and clean. The only thing I could gripe about is the price of their food, but I would gladly pay it for that level of quality and service.
