Hong Kong International Airport Car Park 4

Carparks are actually quite difficult to comment on in the sense that there is very little to talk about– they are functional buildings and rarely is there any particular flair that goes with something as bland as rows and rows of spaces. This is no different– the no.4 car park at Chep Lap Kok International Airport is, as its name suggests, a car park.
So why am I writing about it? That’s because this is the carpark that less people know about. Everybody usually heads to the no.1 and 2 open air ones because that’s the first one you come across when you leave the highway. Its only for short term parking though and in most cases it is filled with people doing quick pick ups and on busy days its chaotic to say the least.
This multistoried one is different in both sense– its covered (great for Hong Kong’s rainy season), it has a lot more spaces and this is the one you have to go to if you are parking long term. I have had to do a lot of pick ups this summer because of travelling family members and the advantage of using this carpark is that on the (2) level there is a pick up point that leads you directly (via a short walk through an air conditioned passage) into the arrival hall. That spares you having to wait for the lifts which you do at no.1 & 2. Its also a much shorter walk if you have to pick someone up from arrival hall A– those who fly from CLK will know what I mean.
Just remember that if you have to park long term you may have to approach the parking attendants first.
