Lingnan Garden is located inside Lai Chi Kok Park. Lingnan Garden features courtyards, winding corridors, structures with traditional Lingnan designs, sculptures and bonsai trees. I read that 20% of the total area of the Lingnan Garden is dedicated to ponds and water features. It occupies like 12,000+ sq meters of space inside the giant Lai Chi Kok Park. The garden is open from 7AM to 11PM. It is a lovely, outdoor green spot that is lush in landscaping and deep in traditional Chinese style feel.

When I was little I was such a huge fan of those Chinese classics — The twin heroes, The Legendary Couple, The Legend of the Condor Heroes, etc. Seeing all those martial artists from different sects or cults like Shaolin and Wudong fighting each other are just fascinating. However, in modern days, who would have thought that you may still come across a place that can make you believe you just walk inside the martial arts world? Located in Lai Chi Kok and opened since 2000, Lingnan Garden is constructed in traditional Lingnan style where you can see classical Chinese courtyards with corridors. There are quite a few local TV shows that were filmed here because of the Chinese ornaments including sculpture, plaster, stone carving etc. On the gate you may also see couplets and poetry. I personally do not have much experience in reading Chinese literature so the meaning of those still puzzles me to this very day. One interesting thing here is that you may not be able to learn martial arts here, but the walking on the pebble path here can definitely give you the same experience those famous martial artists had been through. I seriously do not know why pebble path is so common here and people will still walk on it while enduring unbearable pain. I have seen people doing this barefoot and I could barely walk with my socks on… anyways, it may be a fantasy nowadays to relive those Chinese martial moments but all those Martial arts and chivalry novels still have a special place in my heart.
