Adorable little bistro, with great eats and friendly people. Recommended. Steak-frites with an order for«rare» came out genuinely rare, a rare treat. I’ll be here until Tuesday. It’s also very kid-friendly, which makes it a great destination for a family brunch when in Stanley. Be sure to make a booking, though. To get there, look for the Delifrance at the alleyway entrance, and go up a few doors.

Lucy’s is a great little restaurant tucked away down a back street in Stanley. Away from the main seafront drag, means that it doesn’t suffer from drunk dragon boaters dirtying up the place with their vest tops and paddles. Instead, we have a wonderfully casual and romantic restaurant, serving fresh and tasty Mediterranean food. With the liberal use of fresh seasonal ingredients, the«chalkboard» menu rotates often(as in so often that they just write it up on the chalkboard). The last time I went, I had the slow roast pork belly, which was divine, and at HKD230, a fairly reasonable cost. The service is casual and easy, with friendly and attentive staff. The interior is cosy and romantic. There is a palm tree in the middle of the dining room, which is a bit odd, but it does divide the restaurant and obscure other diners, so it is nice to hide behind. The bench seating and tables down one side of the dining room can get a little cramped, especially if they are all occupied. Try to get a table in the corner behind the palm tree. It really is an ideal setting for an imitate celebration, a date night, even a place to rest your feet after shopping the market. It is a little tricky to find, look out for the brightly coloured façade, but do persevere as the food and setting are well worth it. It’s actually very close to the taxi drop off for Stanley, so there is no excuse not to visit really. Oh, and remember to book, as it’s not very big and tables get snapped up quickly!
