Rating des Ortes: 4 Hong Kong
This restaurant offers something I find that is very rare in Hong Kong nowadays– value. Nestled away in the back streets of Tai Wai is this shop that specializes in baked rice, pasta and oysters. Random selection of food items it may seem; but you cannot imagine how good everything comes together and more importantly– at the price that it does. The favourites here are the baked meat-sauce/doria rice, pork chop rice(HK Style) and some other daily specials that differs depending on the day. Most of the dishes include a healthy(or heart stopping) portion of baked cheese melted on to it and there are also a number of other selections including black(squid-ink) spaghetti. The main attraction here is of course, as the name suggests; the oysters. Oysters here could be made to many different specifications but most of it involve baking it like a jacket potato with a healthy splattering of cheese on top. For those who likes oysters this place is a must; but just don’t expect any fresh oysters here because they don’t do it here. Prices for lunch are around 50 and dinner 60 or some more. For this sort of price, you get a baked lunch/dinner set with a drink included. Value wise you cannot beat this place and the only complaint that I would have about this particular shop is that it is tiny and you seem to be sharing your lunch with everyone else in the shop. That’s a small price to pay when the food is that good!
