Tsing Yi Sports Ground Car Park

This carpark is a savior for those who live nearby. Tsing Yi, to those who don’t know it, has an acute shortage of parking spaces– especially for those who live above the station. Back in the day and for a short time I was the proud owner of two cars– or I should say I bought one before I could sell the old one. Though I was on verge of selling the old one, that still meant that I had to live with two cars and one parking space for about a week. This meant I had to find somewhere to park quick.
The Tsing Yi Sportsground proved to be a savior. The parking rates here are relatively cheap– 12 HKD./ hr normally and overnight parking is 60 HKD which I find to be very fair. What you get is a huge open air carpark that is well lit, well patrolled and the only drawback would be the fact that it is open ground. You can’t have it all as they say. You will find that a lot of people actually park here instead when they go to maritime Square as that place is constantly jammed up and the queues back up for a mile and parking here makes no difference at all. It takes no time to get to the mall.
As with all public sports ground, you would not be advised to park here for prolonged periods of time as the charges are incremental and eventually you may be better off just parking in the mall or station carpark anyways. However, if they ever did a monthly deal I’m sure the spaces will be taken up in no time. Of course, we keep forgetting that this carpark is actually here to cater for the sports ground users and it so happens that many people live near it.
Best value? Yes Long Term Parking? No. Anything else? Ask the attendant.
