I went to this gallery as part of the Art Gallery Association Art Week in Hong Kong, in which so many local galleries (many in SOHO) were focused on engaging the public in art. Yet again, the role of the art gallery is shouldering the weight that a solid museum (s) does is most major metropolitan areas of similar size. Parkview was hosting a discussion panel on several local collectors.
Parkview is a large, welcoming gallery. The staff was attentive to answering questions and diving into deeper conversations with me regarding pieces of artwork I was looking at in their installation.
Prices of art can vastly vary, with some costing $ 500HKD and some costing $ 500,000HKD. Parkview is not intimadating and I felt like I could engage in any conversation about art, art history, price points, etc. with their staff.
