Bar gallego con tapas típicas. Se recomienda especialmente el pulpo y lacón. Local pequeño y algo anticuado, pero con servicio rápido y buenos productos.

El Celta lleva toda la vida en Gòtic. Antes estaba en un local más pequeño, con un escalón traicionero al entrar, y ahora han pasado al local de enfrente: sin duda, han ganado con el cambio.
Tiene tanta solera que en alguna novela situada en la ciudad aparece citado como bar de pescadores o del puerto. Allí sus protagonistas tomaban las tapas típicas y destacaban la calidad en su tipo de productos: creo que ya no hay para tanto y que la fama, los años o la facilidad de vivir del turista-​busca-​tapas han hecho daño a su cocina.
Las últimas veces que he ido han perdido algo de su calidad y están muy centrados en la fritanga. Es una pena porque antes platillos como las bravas eran muy disfrutables; sin pretensiones pero perfectas para picar algo con una caña. Sólo recomendable para los que disfrutan sólo con llenarse o no les importa comer únicamente frituras.

The Quick: Seafood lovers only. The boiled octopus served with paprika, sea salt, and olive oil is a must try.
The Details: The boiled octopus is so fresh and simple, we had it every day in Barcelona. The sangria is good, the croquettes are also worth a try, but the star of the show was obviously the octopus. The «small» portion (pictured) was a good tapas size for two.
The Damage: About 10 Euro. SO worth it.

C’est un endroit qui né paie vraiment pas de mine mais alors pour des tapas authentiques, c’est un endroit que je conseille vraiment.
Le problème de Barcelone c’est qu’il y a tellement de touristes que tout est formaté pour eux. On perd le goût et l’ambiance d’une vraie soirée tapas et c’est dommage. Mais à la Pulperia Celta, c’est tout le contraire.
On a trouvé ce bar à tapas en plein milieu d’une promenade et l’Espagne étant l’un des pays où l’on peut manger à n’importe quelle heure, on s’aventure là-​dedans. Quelle trouvaille !!
De super tapas bien préparées et l’authenticité au rendez-​vous. Avec la bonne petite bière ou le verre de pinard de la région qui vas avec. Je né vais pas m’étendre c’est pas la peine: c’est très bon et vous né le regretterez pas !

The service looks arrogant but I don’t think they are rude maybe just busy and typical Barcelonians? Usually the experience we had was warmer. Looks chaotic but everything arrived quickly, we were just unsure did they understand us due to very limited English. The place was packed and for a reason! Octopus was great as were the shrimps and peppers! Great value for money

Came here on the recommendation of her air B&B host for late tapas. Their wine recommendation was really good and we drank a whole bottle of house red quickly. We ordered a few things wanting to try a variety but they only ended up bringing out three of the four. This place is a little tough for tourists because there aren’t really table menus so you have to know what the items on their counter are.
Plate of croquettes was decent. Potatoes brothers were okay, but the pulp octopus was really good for me. Very tender, big pieces-​friend had a hard time getting past the suction cups but I thought it was very good.
So good wine, good octopus, not ideal for tourist tapas destination.

Amazing seafood. One of my favorite meals in Spain. First, get the octopus (I had the large octopus). Served with oil and a bit of paprika. It was delicious, I think there are some pictures of it on Unilocal.The razor clams were also terrific, cooked in oil, garlic with herbs, served with lemon. Love those. Patatas bravas was good, and something that should be a staple in every meal. The chorizo was good, but not my favorite sausage of our travels. I would recommend eating anything that came out of the sea here.
This place is super relaxed, they left us the bottle of wine and just asked how many glasses we drank at the end. No real menu, just pick from what is on the bar, and it all depends on what was available that day. Service was friendly.
This place gets packed (with locals), so you might need to sit at the bar or wait for a table.
I’m disappointed that we didn’t eat more meals here.

Hoy mismo hemos pasado por este local, cantidad de tapas variadas «las de siempre» una tortilla que te echa para atrás…que dimensiones. Pulpo, chipirones, pescaitos, etc. Recomendable.

We love Bar Celta and always have done, we used to always visit the previous location and as soon as we landed in Spain we headed there for our dinner in the new location of El Born.
My husband would usually have the octopus which he loves but he didn’t this time. We did however have their bravas which I love and their pimientos del padron are some of the best we had. The atmosphere is quite local and fun, the prices are pretty cheap and the food is good. What else could you want?

Unexpected surprise while walking around and seeing the line for Paradeta. This place became one of my favorites. Navajas (razor clams) were the cheapest and most tasty we came across. The octopus was tender and flavorful. Pimientos were charred perfectly. Pan was the crustiest and the staff was so friendly. I loved it!

This tapas bar specializes in tapas from Galicia, and they serve their wine in bowls! They pour the first bowl and you refill as often as you like (they will tally up the total at the end).
There are three long counters with choices of traditional tortillas (in Spain this is a potato quiche), sausages, fried fish and seafood like calamari or shrimp, potatoes, croquetas (fried potatoes with crab, cod, ham, or cheese), razor clams, langoustines, and the best baby octopus, all grilled to order in garlic and olive oil. The razor clams were tender and fresh, but only whetted my appetite for more, like the grilled baby octopus, which was the best version I’ve ever eaten. I love smelt but these were too big and fishy (I found much better ones a block away). Of the croquetas, I preferred the cod to the ham, even though both were good.
The total for two of us sharing four tapas with four drinks (the sodas cost twice as much as the wine which was only 1.20 Euro a bowl) was 36 Euros or about $ 42 USD. The plates here are fairly large portions, so order as you eat, or just get a plate of the grilled octopus.

Very nice octopus/​squids specialty casual restaurant recommended by locals. Order the signature dish– Pulpo (octopus tentacles). We tried the a la plancha (grilled version). It was fresh, tender slices of octopus pieces cut from an entire big octopus, tossed with Olive oil. We also order fried baby octopus (pulpitos) which was equally nice. Highly recommended

Stumbled across Celta’s 2^nd (newer) location, on the eastern edge of Bari Born at Calle Princesa, #50. Very happy to have made the discovery on a Saturday night. Good affordable wine and solid fare, plus a great atmosphere.

We all loved the speciality of the house — octopus. Also, we enjoyed the carne (beef), calamari, shrimp, Patatas bravas, potato croquet (some with a little bacon) sardines and charizos (a bit greasy). The wait staff was very friendly, but with almost no English. Also liked the Sangria.

Walking through a small alley and my husband spotted this bar/​restaurant opening. Decided to give it a go and it was a great decision. Tapas everywhere! We ordered tortilla de patata (potatoe omelet), patatas bravas (potatoes with spicy sauce — best we’ve had here in barcelona), salchichas (sausage), & cod crocuettes. Since it was just opening it was pretty empty but the food was good and the guys behind the bar tried to communicate in English as much as possible! Very fun way to end our trip in Spain.

Was close to the hotel, so we tried it on a whim (usually I plan things out fairly carefully, but didn’t expect so much down time before we could check in to the hotel). I suppose there is a reason I try to plan things out … to avoid places like this.
The servers were very friendly. But the fried items were too oily (calamari and chipirones, the octopus was bland. The tortilla de patatas was good, as was the grilled langostines.

Ich finde dieses kleine Tapas Restaurant echt gut. Preis und Angebot stimmen. Im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Tapas Restaurants echt spitze.
Ich war vorher jahrelang Stammkunde bei Cal Pep, aber ehrlich gesagt wuchs meine Entäuschung mit jedem Besuch bei Cal Pep — mehr hierzu unter Cal Pep, Barcelona.
Die jungen Wilden jedoch in der Bar Celta verdienen aufjedenfall einen Besuch. Lecker und gut, bestimmt schreibt mir wenn es nicht so war.

Es conocido por su «pulpo a la gallega» pero a mí no me impresionó, sinceramente. Esto porque me gusta el pulpo bien blandito y en este sitio no lo hacen así. Los precios no son muy económicos pero siempre está lleno de turistas o de aficionados. Gran variedad de tapas que puedes consumir en la barra o sentado en una de las mesas al fondo. Dos personas, unos 35 eurillos.

99% der Tapas sind auf Fischbasis. Dagegen kann man behaupten, dass es den Fisch-​Fans durchaus sehr geschmeckt hatte.
Beleuchtung und Atmosphäre gebe ich den Vorrednern Recht. Es ist nicht gerade ein romantisches Lokal. Das jedoch, sieht man gleich beim Eintreten und kann daher frei entscheiden, ob es egal ist oder ob man doch lieber das gemütliche suchen möchte.
Hektik hinter dem Tresen ja aber das ist der besondere Flair dieser Bar!
Genial bestellt einen Wein und ihr bekommt eine ganze Flasche hingestellt könnt sozusagen selbst nachschenken und am Ende wird abgerechnet nach Flaschenpreis. ich weiß jedoch nicht, was passiert, wenn ihr nur 2 Gläser davon trinken würdetmüsste man trotzdem die ganze Flasche bezahlen?! — war bei uns nicht der Fall = wir haben die ganze Flasche getrunken in weiser Voraussicht, den gesamten Preis zahlen zu müssen :)

Une ambiance typique, des tapas plutôt réussies et pas chères…
J’ai aimé le poulpe (la spécialité) avec son petit assaisonnement huile d’olive, fleur de sel, paprika. Patatas bravas, calamares, croquettas, pimentones, blablabla con una pequena cerveza o sangria… Es un sueno!!!
Ça y est tant de saveurs, d’odeurs, de bruits je suis devenu catalan l’espace d’une heure… Et ça quand on voyage c’est le pied!

Das Essen, wir hatten gemischte Tapas, war in Ordnung, teilweise sogar gut. Für die Menge war es vielleicht etwas zu teuer und der Service brauchte auch sehr lange um uns die zweite Runde Getränke zu bringen.
Für Abends ging jedoch die Atmosphäre gar nicht, viel zu hell, so ist keine Stimmung aufgekommen. Eher nicht wieder.

Stopped by on a whim since the original place we were headed to was closed. Turns out, this place is in the Lonely Planet book!
Here’s what we ordered:
–octopus: didn’t try but it was the most expensive item on the menu and it was quite chewy and «not worth it for the price»
–mussels: delicious and in a spicy sauce with diced onions
–chorizo: tasty but overly cooked and salted
–olives: too salty
–shrimp: fresh
–tuna empanadas: okay… wished it was served a bit warm rather than cold
–bread with tomato: delicious when dipped in the mussel broth
–croquettes: don’t know what was inside (cheese?) but I could have ordered more!
The bar is in the front and I guess you go around the bar looking at what they have. We sat in the back room (non-​smoking area). For those doing tapas in Barcelona for the first time, they don’t offer wines by the glass so when we ordered their popular white wine (Reboreda), we were presented with the bottle and even though we only wanted a glass and told the waiter, we were still charged for the entire thing.
Service was a bit gruff. Not sure if that’s a European thing and/​or because we were tourists. The price for all that food was about $ 71 EU including drinks.

Dios bendiga a los gallegos y su capacidad para poner sobre La Tierra lugares donde comer bien! Y más aún por poner un bar de tapas de verdad en medio de esta ciudad, donde cada vez son más difíciles de encontrar… Es genial llegar, coger un lugar y recorrer toda la barra en busca de las tapas a seleccionar: pulpitos, chipirones, pescaditos, calamares a la romana y e la estrella del lugar: el pulpo a la gallega. También hay mesas al fondo para los que van en grupo o no se les da el rollo barra, pero me parece que así debe perder el encanto.
Lo único malo, es que como hay tanta variedad de tapas y todas están buenas, cuando te das cuenta has pedido 6 ó 7 y eso significa dejar unos 30 euros… eso sí, habrán valido la pena.

If you find yourself in Barcelona all of a sudden, this is the one tapas bar you should not miss! Barcelona has many, and most are mere overpriced tourist traps. But Celta does Tapas like John Holmes did aspring actresses… Deliciously hard?! Anyway… Get the Octopus! Eat the Octopus! Wash the Octopus down with a refreshing Estrella Damm!
At the heart of every great city is amazing food. Bar Celta Pulperia does not disappoint. And, it didn’t give me diarrhea!

This was the gastronomic highlight of my trip to Barcelona (trip on a budget). Sit at the counter and order a pitcher of red sangria (or a bottle of something) and point at what you want. The baby octopus is excellent, as are the adult octopus, but my favorite by far were the fried piquillo peppers — a small crispy bundle with just the right amount of salt and just the right amount of heat.
Reasonably priced tapas in a tourist area are hard to find! Dishes were in the 3 – 5 euro range (compared to 8 – 15 euro) at the other places that we checked out on Las Ramblas nearby.

Una calle con un encanto especial para el routier de gastronomías breves autonómicas, uséase tapas con variada denominación de origen. No daré más pistas. Por lo que respecta al noroeste peninsular el Celta (maldito nombre, es que yo soy del Depor) es un muy buen digno representante. Sabor atlántico en tapa o ración que te hace añorar «o ghran carallo de sal», uséase Galicia.

Menudas borracheras con ribeiro que me he cogido aquí. Es lo que puedo decir en un primer momento, y eso que he ido unas cuantas veces.
Os podría decir también que tienen diversas tapas a buenos precios. Bravas, pescaditos fritos, pimientos de Padrón y sobre todo Pulpo a la gallega. Reservan para hacer cenas en la parte de atrás, pero yo nunca he pasado de su larguísima barra nada más que para ir al baño, con la barra es suficiente para tomarse algo y comerse las tapitas.
A ver, no es como un bar de las Rias Baixas, pero para quitar el mono vale.
Además es una buena calle para irse de cañas y tapas, un navarro, un cántabro y un asturiano (y no es el principio de un chiste) te esperan un poco más adelante.

On est loin des bars à tapas trendy du Raval ou du Barri Gotic, la Pulpéria c’est de l’authentique ! Niché dans la Carrer del Mercé, derrière le Passeig de Colom, c’est pas très grand et la déco est succincte mais les serveurs ont un grand sourire et les produits sont ultra frais.
Mardi soir 8 mars, c’était le choc Barça/​Arsenal au Camp Nou, et quelques clients, visiblement des habitués, étaient déjà accoudés au comptoir, le long du bar en L, pendant que la radio retransmettait le match. Nous essayons de né pas faire trop touristes: on planque les guides et on grimpe avec naturel sur les tabourets. Pour faire son choix pas de problème: tout est visible derrière les vitres du comptoir et le serveur parle français nous évitant ainsi de baragouiner en mélangeant l’espagnol (pardon le catalan) avec l’italien !
En quelques minutes nous voilà pourvus: les incontournables Pa amb tomaquet (pain à la tomate) et Patatas bravas à la sauce piquante avec un double effet: au départ c’est relevé et à la fin ça piqué franchement un peu !, les croquettes à la morue et la spécialité du bar: le poulpe, avec dos cervezas pour faire descendre tout ça ! Le poulpe, je sais pas pourquoi j’avais quelques a priori, mais faut oser et au final c’est très bon: cuisson parfaite pas du tout caoutchouteux et plat relevé mais sans excès.
Pour terminer, une douceur: une part de gâteau aux amandes à arroser d’un vin cuit local pour l’imbiber, étonnant au niveau de la saveur et de la texture mais très bon.
Et l’addition, me direz-​vous: une trentaine d’euros au total pour deux, donc extrêmement raisonnable. Nous nous sommes régalés et avons presque fait la fermeture …

Es uno de los peores sitios donde he comido en mi vida.
El pulpo es tremendamente malo, caro y escaso… no merece la pena. El resto de la carta es bastante flojo y está frío, ya que son frituras ya hechas que están en la barra…
El lugar es sumamente deprimente, y la camarera, además de desagradable, era lenta…
Hacerme caso y no os acerquéis.

Warum nur, laesst diese wirklich gute Tapas Bar mit ihren hervorragenden Speisen und ihren entertainenden Barmaennern nur jegliche Gemuetlichkeit vermissen? Die Einrichtung ist karg, die Moebel alt, die Beleuchtung «weisse Neonroehre». Schade. Ich lege nun mal grossen Wert auf ein raeumliches Wohlbefinden — un das finde ich hier nicht. Was ich finde, sind leckere Speisen und –wie gesagt– verrueckt agierendes Personal, dass seine Speisen lauthals ankuendigt, sobald diese die Kueche verlassen. Das hat was.

Die Tapas sind recht gut, aber nicht überragend. Anzumerken ist der Tintenfisch nach Art des Hauses (einzigartig in Barcelona); er ist frisch (s. Fotos) und sehr lecker.
In bezug auf Preis/​Leistung im Vergleich zu anderen Cava Schänken wie z.B. der Xampanería Can Paixano sagt die Rechnung eigentlich schon alles: Wir haben zu zweit recht gut gegessen und jeder fast 25EUR gezahlt. Woanders hatten wir bis auf den Tintenfisch ebensoviel zu essen und noch mehr zu trinken und kamen auf weniger als 10EUR p.P. …

More than happy to recommend this tapas Bar as one of the best in Barcelona. Food excellent but also has a great proper tapas bar atmosphere, often with a mix of locals and tourists.

Durch die Empfehlung von Qype-​Nutzern sind wir in der Mittagszeit in die Bar Celta Pulpería gegangen — und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Tapas waren sehr lecker und die Bedienung freundlich. Die Preise gingen auch in Ordnung.
Nur die Toiletten könnten geräumiger sein. Man bekommt die Tür kaum zu
Ausserdem hätte ich mir eine grössere Auswahl an (kalten) Tapas gewünscht. Aber vielleicht waren wir auch einfach nur falschen Tageszeit da.

Nicht nur das Essen und die Auswahl und der Gaumengenuss macht die Freude in dieser Tapasbar aus. Es ist das Gewusel um die rießige Auslagefläche, die informativen Schreie der Bedienenden. Und nicht zuletzt der Blick auf die frischen Pulpos, die der Herr Gastwirt frisch auf das Holzklotz wirft, mit der Schere klein schneidet, mit Paprika würzt und dann die Portion für 11,50 an die staunenden Leckermäuler verteilt.

My favourite tapas bar in Barcelona by a mile. It may not look anything special from the outside but the range of top value tapas is absolutely superb.
You enter the place and sit around a large U shaped bar with all the food layed out and protected by glass (imagine being in a butchers shop). You then simply keep on ordering and ordering from the chap behind the bar until you’re full and wash the whole lot down with a caña.
This tapas bar always has a large number of locals using it rather than posher looking places in the tourist traps. They do so for a good reason.

Pour s’y rendre, descendre les Ramblas puis tourner à gauche et longer le Passeig de Colom. La rue du bar est parallèle juste avant le Placa d’Antoni Lopez.
Vous pouvez y manger des tapas au bar ou aux quelques tables de la salle du fond. Ambiance espagnole garantie et très grande spécialité de poulpes.

ist es die qual der wahl die einen verwirrt, oder sind es die unverschämten preise die einem den appetit verderben? jedenfalls stellt mich die schlichte aufgabe eine nette, bezahlbare tapasbar zu finden, vor schier unüberwindliche probleme. das heisst wenn man nicht vorhat in die üblichen abzockfallen zu laufen.
bis zu dem tag, als ich im barri gotic herumstreifte und per zufall in der nähe der hafenmole die bar celta entdeckte. es war später nachmittag und die bar wurde gerade geöffnet. 3 kerle standen hinter einem langen hufeisenförmigen tresen, der den kompletten raum beherrschte. ich war der erste gast. ich traute meinen augen nicht: es gab dort tapas in allen varianten, unmengen von tapas, sozusagen tapas bis der arzt kommt (falls einem nicht vorher das geld ausgeht). das kann bei den moderaten preisen allerdings eine weile dauern. ich war glücklich über die vielen frischen und schmackhaften kreationen und auch der haus-​tinto passte perfekt. besonders lecker war die spezialität: kleine eingelegte tintenfische (ja, ich esse ab und an etwas fisch).
gut gesättigt, leicht beschwipst und irgendwie versöhnt trat ich dann später wieder auf die inzwischen dunkle gasse hinaus — bis zum nächsten mal.
