La Flauta

This is our go-​to spot for overall good food. It’s the only place we went back to during our Barcelona trip.
I loved the shrimp and calamari skewer. SOOOoo tender, so yummy! Patatas Bravas was the best one we had of all the restaurants we ordered it from. In particular, it’s a bit more crispier than other places. I was initially disappointed by the fried egg and potatoes dish cause of the hype, and it tasted a bit flavorless — tastes as it sounds, just egg on top of fries. But I found myself craving it later. Nothing special I think, but the crunchiness of the fries are awesome! =)
We ordered other dishes, but not notable enough to write about, just solid.

La Flauta was recommended to me by my Airbnb host and it was also the first tapas restaurant my boyfriend and I visited in Spain.
We arrived around noon on a Thursday and were seated immediately (despite Unilocal’s advertised open time of 1pm). The server recommended a few favorites which we later realized are the common dishes of tapas bar (i.e. tomato bread, fried eggs over potatoes, stirfry asparagus and mushroom). However the quality and taste prepared by La Flauta was the most memorable.
Lastly their foi gras as part of their daily special was the best dish I have had during my visit to Spain and the best way of how foi gras are prepared in my experience!
I gave four star given their dishes were typical of other tapas places but quality was definitely higher.

The food is delicious! Have a great variety and selection to choose from. All the seafood was fresh and tasted delicious! The service was good too :) Make sure to get the mushrooms with asparagus as a side.

3^rd time here in the week visiting– super busy establishment, every thing fresh & comes out fast. My one of my all time favorites– the ‘dessert’ fried Camembert croquet rolled in almonds (?) w/​raspberry jam drizzled over the top!

The Flauta is an awesome tapas restaurant! Extremely popular as well. I don’t think they take reservation and you’ll need to put down your name on a wait list and announce it when it’s your turn. They won’t sit you until your entire party is there.
They have a large variety of tapas. My favorites include the fried egg with fries and spicy sauce, garlic prawn and various seafood. There’s a front counter with all kinds of fresh seafood in it that you can order. Leave some appetite for desert as well!

The guy at the bar looked grumpy and anxious to go home. He wasn’t friendly at all! The food was ok… Don’t order the shrimp with the shell on unless you don’t mind eating its’ shit and brown green guts! You will never see this in America, gross!

Solid choice for a meal in Barcelona. Lots of great options for small plates /​tapas, none of the dishes we had stood out in particular, but we enjoyed all of them. The ambiance was casual and warm, good environment to go with a group of friends. Prices were reasonable.

The tapas were definitely one of the better ones I’ve had after living in Barcelona for 4 months. We got there around 9 and quickly grabbed the remaining bar seats, and within 10 minutes there were already a huge line out the door. Still, this place didn’t seem to be as touristy as some other tapas restaurants. I ordered a bunch of food that I thought looked good on previous Unilocal reviews, and the man at the bar (bartender? Server? Not sure) was very helpful in helping me identify the food I wanted from the photos. Every dish I got was very tasty — especially the fried eggs on ham and fries. Overall great atmosphere and service.

Muy bonito el lugar! no es nada caro en relidad pero claro que la comida tampoco es la gran cosa. Eso sí, si tienen mucha hambre es un buen lugar para ir ya que el menu es super grande. Lo recomiendo, pero no para una salida ni nada sino por ejemplo un buen sitio para comer en días de trabajo, etc. aunque tendrían que tener cuidado con la cantidad de vino que les sirven jaja!

The place is nice and service was decent but my boyfriend and I were not that impressed by the food unlike some of the reviews here. We ordered 4 tapas and while they didn’t taste bad, they were not tasty either, rather bland.

Excellent meal, fantastic service, and lovely ambiance. We had a bunch of tapas (thumbs up for three orders of patatas bravas) and a bottle of wine. Everything we had was delicious and the prices are very reasonable. We didn’t need to wait for a table but we didn’t get there until 11pm on a Friday night.
They do have English menus if needed.

Famous and recommended place in Barcelona but be prepared to wait for a table. Lots of good tapas, portions are reasonnable and affordable prices. Some tables are available outside so it’s nice to seat outside. List of tapas is the same as most of the other restaurants in Barcelona.

Pero cuanta cola!!! Buena señal claro está!!! Queríamos picar algo rápido antes de ir al cine. Cuando llegas tienes que apuntarte a una lista y normalmente (por lo que he leído) media hora no te la quita nadie. Como se nos hizo tarde nos fuimos pero lo bueno fue que cuando terminó la película (0:30) quisimos probar suerte y todavía tenían abierta la cocina hasta la 1:15h (cierran el local a las 1:30). Así que valió la pena regresar. Nos sirvieron en seguida, no esperamos nada. Nos pedimos las chips de berenjenas con queso de cabra y manchego y me encantaron. Recomiendo también los huevos cabreaos, con ajillo! Los camareros te aconsejaban por ejemplo como en nuestro caso que habíamos pedido dos tapas de patatas (las bravas y los cabreaos) y ellos mismos te recomendaban si mejor querías probar otra cosa. Entiendo la fama de la flauta aunque tendré que ir también a la de Balmes, la pionera.

There are no words to express how amazing the food here!
Kudos to the chef snd staff who endlessly give their passion in serving good food and tapas with an amazing smile.
So let me start my review:
1. Ambience: the bar/​restaurant has a very inviting atmosphere, a bit crowded the way the tables were arrange but with all the customers they want to accommodate every one.
2. Service: entertaining, fast and adequate. The staff are very attentive with their customer, from asking you what to drink upon sitting down and going back to you and ask what order you want. They give sometimes to explain their menu and give suggestions.
3. Price i would say affordable and adequate for the service and food.
4. The final moments: Food —- this one ill leave it to the readers and challenge them to give it a try. My palate describe it as simply amazing!

Off the beat and path of the many tourist trap Tapas restaurants. This place was simply smashing! Very busy, but very accommodating to all. It did not seem to matter if you were a local or tourist.
Very extensive tapas menu. They do have an English menu too.
Service was a team approach, therefore your food comes to to table quickly but not too fast.
I’m sure I could have chosen anything on this menu and would’ve been totally satisfied.

This restaurant is a sure bet to take friends to that would like to experience good Tapas. You will not be disappointed.
You may have to wait, but not really as long as the host states. I guess the greatest thing about Tapas served well is that the tables turn over a lot faster than your typical restaurant.
Great and fun experience here. Will definitely love to come back on my next visit.

We were brought to Flauta by some friends who live in Valencia. We absolutely loved the meal we had. Definitely would recommend getting there early as the place was absolutely packed. My friend called ahead and put her name on the list yet we still waited about 20mins once our whole party was there. They do have a bar in the entrance so you can enjoy a drink while you wait.
Probably the best food we’ve had since in Spain. Would highly recommend the grilled squid, grilled octopus, fried potatoes with a fried egg (can’t remember that name), and filet medallions.
We’ve been in Spain for a while and haven’t seen steak in many places. The filet medallions hit the spot.

Great tapas place! Loved the atmosphere, lots of native Catalans I think. I can recommend the mushroom and asparagus, the squids in any form, and their Sangria (the classic one). More or less anything when I think of it

La Flauta is a must when you are in Barcelona. Specializing in well crafted, fresh Spanish tapas. The food is very reasonably priced and delicious.
We had the patatas bravas and they were spectacular. I also recommend the asparagus and mushrooms.
It’s a little off the beaten path which makes it less touristy.
The atmosphere is a little more upscale than a traditional tapas bar but the food matches that atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.

Buena cena en la Flauta.
Fuimos mi pareja y yo a cenar sobre las 22h. Nos apuntamos en la lista y tenían para unos 20 minutos de espera. Al ser 2 supongo que era más fácil de colocarnos. Des de la puerta ya vimos el nivel de los platos, la presentación y los precios de la carta, para ser de noche y el lugar que es, están bastante bien.
Subimos arriba (el local es inmenso!) y empezamos a pedir: un plato de huevos revueltos con jamón de jabugo, pescadito frito, ambos platos para compartir. Luego para ella una flauta «tropico» (lechuga, mayonesa, pollo, tomate) y para mi una flauta caliente de morcilla con pimientos. Dos copas de vino, tinto y rosado. 2 cafés. Total 30 €.
Salimos bastante llenos y la calidad de los platos era notable.
Como punto negativo quizás sería el elevado ruido de algunas mesas (despedidas de soltero y cumpleaños) y el constante ir y venir de los camareros y clientes justo en la mesa que estaba yo, me conllevó algún que otro golpecito en la silla y en el respaldo.
El servicio fue muy rápido. Me quedó con ganas de repetir otro día y pedir algo de marisco.

we showed up right when it opened for dinner, and it was already almost halfway full, and it was completely full within 20 minutes.
we ordered sangria and tapas. try the sandwiches (we got pork loin because it was so much cheaper than the steak), pimientos pardon, and the shrimp and squid skewers. we didn’t see the peppers or skewers on the menu because it was in English, but we told our server we saw them on Unilocal (which is usually weird to do) and he knew exactly what we were talking about and was very helpful. I swear I still dream about those peppers and skewers! 100% going back here when I make it back to Barcelona.

Conseillé par notre hôte AirBnb quasiment voisin du resto, nous avons été un peu déçus par ce restaurant.
La terrasse était agréable et le service efficace.
Nous né sommes pas rentrés à l’intérieur mais ça semblait plutôt cosy et bien animé!
Nous avons pris plusieurs assiettes de tapas et avons été déçus par le rapport quantité-​prix surtout
L’assiette de jambon était très bonne, mais mérite quand même 2 ou 3 euros de moins selon moi.
Les champignons et huitres sautés: nous pensions avoir quelquechose de vraiment original avec un choc entre la terre et la mer. En fait il s’agit de champignons sautés dans du jus d’huitres, du moins je crois: pas d’huitre dans l’assiette, que du champignon et une note iodée à peine perceptible.
Les coquillages gratinés de Galice étaient également chers: une dizaine de palourdes (ou amandes de mer?) seulement qui né valent pas le prix.
Excellentes patatas bravas!!!
En somme, c’était bon mais pour certains plats un peu chiche pour le prix et quelques petites déceptions gustatives.
Une adresse sympa dans le quartier tout de même.

Si t’agrada el pa de debò no t’acostis, no puc entendre que un lloc que es basa amb el pa, concretament la flauta, tingui tan poca cura en aquest producte bàsic. Molt pretensiós

Gran restaurante para comer y cenar tanto en menú como a la carta.
Esta muy bien económicamente y la gente de allí amables y atentos.

A esta review se le podría llamar «La mosca que colma el vaso» (o plato según se mire).
Llevaba tiempo comiendo en este sitio, la comida era relativamente buena y con un precio decente, tampoco barato.
Primer contra, no tienen ningún servicio de reservas, tienes que hacer cola previamente habiéndote apuntado en una lista para que te llamen. Esta cola sin ninguna regulación a empujones tienes que llegar hasta el final (en largas esperas de 45 minutos) para que el manager, un señor de gafas que si le parece bien pasaras.
En esa larga espera si te quieres sentar será una tarea casi imposible ya que la barra está llena siempre, y si llegas a sentarte el camarero te tratará con una serie de malas caras y respuestas que no son ni en un mínimo adecuadas (de lo peor que he visto en mucho tiempo). Además por supuesto de tener la cola de la gente detrás tuyo a menos de medio metro con sus roces y empujones comunes.
Sobre el señor de gafas que toma lista de quien quiere mesa, un hombre bajito de pelo negro, (siempre está ahí tomando nota) su nombre era Alfonso o Alfredo no recuerdo bien. A veces se olvidará de ti en el momento que no te vea a la vista (es un sitio con mucho gentío), tachándote por supuesto de la lista. En más de una ocasión ni que tú estés primero ya sea por algún amiguismo o simplemente no ser profesional te apuntará después que otra gente, haciéndote por supuesto esperar otro tanto más, mucho cuidado con este que se hace el loco como pocos.
Llegados a la mesa la atención de los camareros es normal tirando a buena, mi nota baja además de lo comentado antes viene respecto a lo que me ocurrió la última vez que fuí al sitio en cuestión. Estábamos a punto de comer el segundo plato tranquilamente, cuando de repente en el plato de espaguetis a la carbonara que habíamos pedido en uno había una mosca muerta, inmediatamente llamamos al camarero para comentarle lo sucedido.
El camarero retiró el plato inmediatamente y procedió a llamar al gerente o co-​manager (no sabemos que título tenia). En el rato que esperamos después del asco de encontrarte eso en tu plato (no muy barato precisamente), se nos acerca un señor con gafas de tez oscura posiblemente indio (el gerente/​manager) que con dificultad para comunicarse nos comenta que no nos cobrarían el plato en cuestión.
Para haceros una idea, nosotros éramos clientes fieles que íbamos una o dos veces por semana al sitio a veces más, nos impactó que no nos diesen gratis la cena en su totalidad. Esa poca falta de cuidado al cliente y profesionalidad, más el que te encuentres una mosca muerta en la comida, sumado a que nunca se nos dio preferencia a la hora de coger mesa por ir asiduamente, cosa que en el 90% de restaurantes de esta ciudad es común (cuidar al cliente al máximo), decidimos dejar de ir.
Resumen:
Siempre está lleno de turistas y gente muy aleatoria, supongo que no se centran en el trato al cliente y es más como un fast food español con aires de calidad, pero por la sorpresa que nos llevamos la calidad es muy debatible. Si buscáis buen trato y comer a la hora, no os acerquéis a este sitio.

The best tapas in Barcelona? Who knows, I could eat for years here and still probably not find the best tapas. However you certainly wouldn’t be disappointed at La Flauta.
Dining solo I sat at the bar avoiding the line for the main dining room and had a few small plates. If you are solo or want to try a lot get the ½ size portions of the bocadillos and tapas. Two or three will still fill you up. The highlight for me was the foie gras lobe with fruit on toast. Perfect bite of food. The quality of the food is very high, the prices reasonable for such a popular place. They have menus in English and Spanish.

I live nearby so I strolled in for dinner one night. Nice find! I had the assortment of tapas, which were all pretty good, but did not floor me.
It’s a nice place for a weeknight dinner, but I probably wouldn’t go for a special occasion. Nevertheless, I plan on coming back and trying more!

Es de esos sitiios que a uno le pica la curiosidad ir por lo lleno que está siempre y la de recomiendaciones que hay por todas partes. Y finalmente fui.
Es un lugar informal de comida informal. Es decir, platillos, tapitas, flautas (bocadillos delgados), etc.
La carta es extensa y hay para todos los gustos. Ofrecen ese tipo de comida que siempre apetece y gusta a todo el mundo, perfecta para días sin pretensiones gastronómicas muy exquisitas.
Huevos estrellados, flautas calientes y frías, patatas bravas, berenjenas con miel, mini-​hamburguesas, ensaladas, croquetas, y un largo etcétera.
La verdad es que me gustó pero me dejó la sensación de ser un restaurante de comida algo «batallera», donde todo gusta pero nada brilla.
Eso sí, la calidad-​precio es buena: cena aprox. 15 € por persona.

L’un des meilleurs tapas que j’ai fait dans les environs. Le service est rapide, c’est bruyant et il y a tout le tomes du passage mais cela en vaut la peine!
De délicieuses tapas dont les sandwichs chauds chorizos fromage ou encore filet de porc. Les calmars sont un régal. Je n’ai pas eu l’occasion de goûter les baby squids victimes de leur délicieuse réputation

Authentic AND affordable… La Flauta in L’Eixample district is just that. You have the choice to sit inside or outside at La Flauta and if you choose to stay indoors you’ll walk past an impressive display of fresh seafood on the way to your table. We ordered several tapas dishes including patatas bravas, grilled camarones, and croquetas de pollo. All plates came out rather quickly and were equally delicious and satisfying! We complemented our plates with a pitcher of white cava sangria. There’s not much alcohol in it but you have to enjoy Sangria at least once while in Spain!
You won’t find many locals at this establishment so be sure to get there before 8PM for dinner to avoid waiting for a table.

Se come muy bien, servicio rapidísimo, el local grande y agradable, tiene terraza. La única pega que le pondría es que no admiten reservas y para cenar hay que esperar una media de 45 minutos, sobre todo en fin de semana. Pero la espera merece la pena

Vivo al lado y es el mejor restaurante en cuanta a calidad-​precio de la zona.
El menú de medio día –unos 15 euros– es perfecto si quieres comer bien y no gastarte mucho. El servicio es rápido e impecable. Suele haber cola pero va rápido. Uno se puede también quedar en la barra, es lo que suelo hacer.

Hace ya ⁵⁄₆ años que un amigo llegado de Sevilla me lo hizo descubrir… GRACIAS JAVI”, extraordinarias flautas de lo mas variopintas y a cada cual más exquisita, frias calientes con lechuga con dulce o salado awwww impresionante y deliciosas ! ! ! Las tapas no se quedan atrás, ahí probé por primera vez unos Huevos Cabreados… guauuu exquisito ! ! ! las otras tapas tambien estan deliciosas. Recomiendo que se vaya pronto y con paciencia en la cola, luego los platos los sirven rapidos y vale la pena…
La puntillita en esta ocasión es que no entiendo que cierren los domingos y festivos. GGrrrrrrr

Las flautas están increíbles. Un gran lugar.

Wir waren 2x im La Flauta und waren jedesmal sehr zufrieden.
Der Service ist flott und professionell, die Gerichte durchweg lecker und die Preise angemessen. Die Portionen sind im Vergleich reichlich.
Besonders gefallen haben uns die Cabreaos mit Ei («Egg style») und die Gänseleber.
Der Laden war immer ziemlich voll. Am frühen Abend waren noch Plätze frei, am Wochenende mittags mussten wir warten. Für größere Gruppen und die Haupt-​Essenszeit ist eine Reservierung sicher zu empfehlen.

Muy recomendable al mediodía con un menú muy completo y variado a un precio correctisimo. La pega las colas, aunque merece la pena.
Por las noches flautas riquísimas variadas y tapeo de calidad, el precio se dispara un poco pero totalmente asumible.

Cuando vivía en Barcelona me trajo un amigo a este restaurante al que volví en un par de ocasiones porque me había gustado mucho. Después, en mis visitas a la ciudad, no se ha terciado que vaya, pero no me importaría nada, la verdad.
Sus flautas, bocadillos finitos y alargados, están muy buenos, con pan crujiente relleno de buenos ingredientes, pero lo mejor es no quedarse sólo con eso y echarle un vistazo a su mostrador de productos frescos, que seguro que algo se te antoja. En temporada, probé unas setas deliciosas y no recuerdo qué plato con huevo también me gustó mucho.
Todas las veces que he ido ha estado bastante lleno, así que mejor reservar o ir con tiempo.

Tapas en ambiente agradable, personal amable y atención buena. Un buen vino, si te llega, vale la pena! Fui a la flauta en una cena universitaria y luego con mi chico, éxito asegurado, no fallaréis con la flauta. No se puede reservar por teléfono, llegas y dices tu nombre, como en casa. Las flautas, tenéis que degustarlas, parecen caras pero cuando las comes, entiendes el porqué, riquísimas!!!

La Flauta II ist ein super leckeres und sehr gemütliches Tapasrestaurant. Es gibt eine sehr breite Auswahl an Tapas und für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei. Also weg vom Touristennepp, ins Taxe und hinfahren. Es lohnt sich garantiert.

Ich wüsste nicht, was am Mittag besser passen würde: Gut, günstig und sehr freundliches Personal. Nachdem unsere Kinder bei der Vorspeise nach halbem Teller keinen Hunger mehr hatten wurden wir dreimal gefragt, ob die Kinder etwas anderes haben möchten. Lange Schlange kann sehn, lohnt sich aber

Excelente sitio en la zona de Diagonal/​paseo de Gracia. Sus flautas son irresistibles, tienen menú de mediodia a precio razonable. Todo riquísimo.

Dieser Laden ist für mich nur so einigermassen.
Wir waren zum Frühstück dort.
Nun ja, der Kaffee war gut, der Orangensaft frisch, aber sonst ist dort nichts was man nicht auch sonst an jeder Ecke in barcelona besser bekommen kann.
Die Flautas waren nicht wirklich guteher hart und sehr ölig.

all this was shared between three people, it was really good!
service was impecable!

Resulta que hoy has conseguido «colocar» a tus hijos o convencer a tu pareja para ir al teatro o al cine y tienes el tiempo justo para cenar comida de verdad, no las típicas hamburguesasde «fast food»…pues te acercas a La Flauta y saboreas uno o varios (es imposible comer sólo uno, siempre quieres más) de sus buenísimos bocadillos compartiendo una ensalada y ya lo tienes hecho.
Si vas con tiempo, puedes coger mesa, elegir plato entre sus muchas posibilidades de la carta (entre otros: carnes y verduras a la brasa más que correctas) y comer bien a un precio razonable. El servicio es rápido, a pesar de que casi siempre está el restaurante lleno, y amable.

Am Mittwoch Abend nach kurzem Studium von Qype auch getestet. Super! Die Bedienung ist professionell: freundlich, schnell, aufmerksam, nicht aufdringlich, sehr charaktervoll. Restaurant erreicht man durch die an der Fassade liegende Bar, die gleich beim Eintreten mit unglaublich leckeren Einblicken in die Tapas-​Auswahl zum Staunen bringt. Man möchte einfach alles probieren.
Die Karte gibt es in Englisch auch.
Russischen Salat und Tapas Assorti für 15 Euro bestellt und alles bis zum letzten Biss genossen. Die Schnelligkeit der Bedienung ist sehr beeindruckend. Es wird wie am Fließband gearbeitet, doch mit Geschmack, viel Freude und Würde. Die Gäste kommen, essen, zahlen, die Tische werden sekundenschnell für neue Gäste gedeckt; die Gäste kommen, bestellen, essen, zahlen… Der Kreis wiederholt sich bis zu 4 mal ohne das Gefühl zu erwecken, «abgefertigt zu werden». Das ist die wahre Kunst des Bedienens und des Manegements!

Es gibt das La Flauta I + II. Das La Flauta II auf der Carrer de Aribau 23 ist das gemütlichere und interessantere der beiden. Wenn ihr am Wochenende hingeht, bitte eine großzügige Wartezeit einrechnen und am Tresen oder vor dem Restaurant einen Wein genießen. Man kann nicht vorab reservieren. Sehr lecker der original katalanische Schinken, das Filet auf Brot, Brot mit Tomatenmark, gegrillte Sardellen, Garnelenspiese u.u.u. Es gibt auch eine Tapasplatte mit sechs verschiedenen, die sehr zu empfehlen ist. Am Anfang auf der Carre de Balmes in der nähe von der Avinguda Diagonal/​Via Augusta liegt das La Flauta II. Auch hier stimmt das Preis/​Leistungsverhältnis. Die Hausweinpreise der Riojas betragen pro Copa tatsächlich nur 2,3EUR und sind wirklich lecker. In beiden Läden übrigens.

Auf Qype-​Empfehlung hin waren wir bei La Flauta und haben es nicht bereut. Der Service ist hervorragend, das Essen sowieso. Die Portionen sind für den Preis erstaunlich gross. Wir hatten mit insgesamt 6 Tapas für zwei Personen viel zu viel bestellt. Die Hälfte hätte locker gereicht. Der Wein für 2,30 EUR schmeckte auch super.
Toiletten sind genauso schick, wie der Rest des Restaurants.

Ein super Laden! Das Restaurant ist immer voll, Reservierungen werden nicht entgegengenommen. Wir haben aber glücklicherweise jedes Mal einen Platz bekommen — einmal wegen einer Wartezeit von 30 Minuten an der Bar, zweimal im Restaurant (ohne lange zu warten).
Die Tapas sind sehr lecker, die Auswahl groß, das Preis-​Leistung-​Verhältnis stimmt (die Gerichte sind sehr günstig), der empfohlene Wein hat absolut unseren Geschmack getroffen und war mit 2,30 Euro pro Glas sehr sehr günstig. Eine englische Karte für der Sprache Unkundige gibt es auch. Besonders zu empfehlen ist das kleine Filet vom Rind auf Brot oder die sehr günstigen und ausgesprochen gut gewürzten Garnelenspieße sowie als Vorspeise der Surimi-​Salat. Wir sind begeistert gewesen!
