Lidl was clean, inexpensive with very fresh produce. I think on Fridays they have ½ priced or discounted fresh meats like chicken, pork, etc. since we were in Barcelona only one week I can’t be sure if it’s every week. Keep that in mind. Also they do charge for bags so bring your own if possible.

Typical grocery store. Was a little apprehensive after the last review. I felt safe and nothing special, but just regular items we needed before heading to the beach.

My sister and I visited LIDL Supermercado on Lope De Vega, 112 – 114, 8 005 Barcelona. I could not find this location listed on Unilocal,and the second closest one (I think) popped up here. I felt compelled to write a review because both my sister and I are American, and were looking to go to a local market to pick up Cava and other local goodies to take home to our loved ones. Since it is one block from where we were staying, why not, right? As we walked up to the store, two men started to chase us, so we ran in and once we got inside they turned around and ran out. Um. scary, right? So then, we grabbed a rolling basket (the little one with the long handle like a wagon) and were walking to the right of the first aisle, when a lady shoved my sister and then pushed me into my wagon, which then fell over completely. It made a loud clatter, and she turned around and made a mean face and kept walking. In typical relaxed/​passive-​aggressive California girl manner, I just said «Esta bien!» and kept on rolling with my now re-​righted cart. We then walked into the wine section, where a mother and son followed us, and as we were looking at the wines they stood completely in front of us, and there was hardly any space! It was so weird! Finally, the young man noticed that we were trying to see the wine and without our x-​ray glasses, could not see through their bodies, so he asked his mom to shimmy to the right and all was well. We then stood in line to check out, and as I went to give the man my card, there was a man standing directly behind me. Now, I don’t know about all countries, but in the U.?s, typically a person is not… like…right behind you at an ATM or payment machine at the store, right??? So I turned around and looked at him, then looked at him again, and then looked at him AGAIN until he moved back a little bit. He was giving me the dirtiest look! My sister then paid for her items and as she was paying, he reached over her and grabbed his box of kitty litter and hauled it over her stuff and not his basket. It was so weird. The lady behind us was also giving us the rudest stare, and she would not stop looking at us. At the end of it all, there are no bags or any way to carry stuff home, so we carried it all in our arms. The prices were good, but the people who shop there are beyond strange, and not in a culturally different sort of way. Beware if you go here, and bring your own bag!

Otro establecimiento de la cadena alemana de supermercados, uno de los más baratos que existen en Barcelona. Tienen productos de marca, productos de marca blanca y algunos productos de origen alemán.
Lo que más me gusta son las variedades de chocolate y los zumos. Además a veces suelen traer comidas de diferentes partes del mundo.
Cada semana publican un catálogo de ofertas (en papel y en web), con productos específicos que se venderàn esa semana en sus tiendas. Desde ropa, a artículos para el coche, para la escuela, para hacer deporte, etc. Y además venden productos estacionales, para Navidad, otoño o verano.
Cuando sacan a la venta los hervidores de arroz o las panificadoras, es una auténtica locura, y se hacen colas antes de abrir incluso!

Supermarket is fairly stocked and very cheap. It is owned by German companies so there are a lot of German products. Most items stay pretty consistent with some variations here and their, but for the most part you know what you are going into the store for. Produce is almost always green but if you just wait it out a few days, you will be alright.
