Discovered this place online and loved it so much I went twice during my visit to Barcelona. Tucked away on a side street off Avenida Diagonale, this is really a hidden gem in the city(compared to the more crowded but more well-known and centrally located Aire de Barcelona Hammam). Quiet and relaxing, it’s an oasis of calm in the middle of Barcelona. Reservations can easily be made in English online and there is at least one staff member who speaks good English. I know some Spanish, so during my treatments I just spoke with them in Spanish. The spa is smaller than I expected, but they are careful to limit the number of people booked at a given time. When I went to use the hammam, it was just me and 2 other women. It’s usually women-only, but there are co-ed hours on Thursday-Saturdays(swimsuit mandatory, obviously). There is a main room where you can lounge and drink water. Then there is the wet sauna, which is around 40 degrees I think. When you come out, there’s a frigid cold pool. I could barely stand dipping my legs in there for more than a few seconds, but it feels really good to go back and forth from the hot vs. cold temperatures. There’s a treatment room in the hammam, where you can get a scrub. It’s actually kinda painful, but your skin is sooo soft after. Upstairs are the other treatment rooms for massages, facials, masks, etc. They let you choose your massage oil — there are about 6 different scents. Music is typical inoffensive spa music, i.e. nature sounds. The only thing I didn’t like was that they don’t have those spa tables with a hole for your face. So you have to lie with your head turned to one side, which can get sore after a while, but it’s not that big a deal. My massage was excellent. I almost fell asleep… After your treatment, you can sit on top of plush pillows in your terrycloth robe and sip on tea. They also give you this dessert which is like baklava. Sweet and delicious. They provide everything, so you just need to remember your swimsuit. There are plastic bags to carry your wet swimsuit home in. This place gets 5 stars for the excellent service. From the moment you enter, you really feel taken care of and they think of every detail to make you feel comfortable. One of my favourite Barcelona experiences!
