Taller de Tapas

After dinner we were still hungry and were craving wings so we looked up Chicken Wings. This was one of the few places that popped up. The kitchen was about to close, but we were able to get 2 orders or wings in along with some beers and wine. The drinks were good, but the wings were pretty weak. They were tiny and the flavor was just meh. The service was good though. I did appreciate the friendliness and the quick delivery of beverages. Overall it was ok for me.

Best Reasonably Priced Tapas bar in Barcelona! Great seafood, speaks, padding peppers! They have gourmet hamburgers stacked 5″ tall with Lloyd sorts of yummy toppings. If razor class are on the menu, you MUST try them! We had a super white vino and they have a full bar. You will NOT be disappointed and you won’t leave broke.

After finishing a meal, my table saw a cockroach scuttling on the floor. We called the waitress over immediately and she proceeded to stomp on the insect. Then not two minutes later we see more on the walls. We felt like we needed to throw up…
Then the management started threatening to call the police if we didn’t pay. Several staff tried arguing that the kitchen area was separate from where the cockroaches were, it «is an old building…» Nonsense. Perhaps this is a USA versus Spain cultural difference but be warned about eating here.
One manager then initially offered to comp the meal, but then our waitress tried to telling her manager that we continued to eat AFTER seeing the roach. Really? We are feeling shaky writing this review, partly from anger and partly from disgust.

Es handelt sich um eine Restaurantkette. Habe ich in Barcelona mehrmals gesichtet!
Essen war okay, dafür was es relativ günstig.
Für zwischendurch nicht schlecht. Um es richtig krachen zu lassen würde ich woanders hingehen!

Food was great! Ordered a Barcelonés mojito to compliment our tapas and it was delicious! We ordered the patatas bravas and their flavor was good as well. The sauce that is added brings out the baked potatoe flavor.
Service: It took longer than normal to get a waiter after being sat down and they never came back to check if we needed anything else. This must be normal since we have noticed this in more than one place.
Pricing: Pricing seemed good for what we got. We were initially going to sit outside but realized that there was a 15% increase if we chose to sit in the terrace area. :(

We only had local beer and coffee. Nice place — free wifi and a good quick stop to chill before you walk around. Very close to Museo Picasso

I thought it was a bit touristy, yes — but, hey, I am a tourist. And yes, as others have mentioned, the service on the patio was a little rushed (just by one woman there who seemed intent on turning over our table — the guys were all cool). But the tapas were fresh and solid, and the paella was good.

Terrace patio is 15% more. Service is nice but prices are expensive. Decent food, but hard to beat the street atmosphere and shade

I was VERY impressed with this tapas restaurant. The service was friendly and excellent. The food was very good. I had a marvelous dish of calamari and a wonderful eggplant peppers and anchovies. My husband enjoyed the rib eye and the shrimp in garlic. When I didn’t finish my octopus the manager came over and asked me if I didn’t like it. I said it was slightly overlooked for my taste. He offered to bring another dish of whatever I would like but I thanked him and told him I was really full. When the bill came I was comped the octopus. I objected but they were adamant. Very impressive service oriented place!!!

That was the biggest piece of meat I’ve seen… That turned me on sooo*** I mean, I got hungry… Hehe, that does not sound so good either… *sigh*

I loved this place. Non pretentious and simple, reasonable prices and attentive staff. Food was good but then again, it is hard to have bad food in Barcelona. If you are tapas hoping give them a try

What a nice little bar! Although in a touristy street (but what part of the old town of Barcelona is tourist free) with a decent selection of tapas and drinks. We followed the recommendation of our good friend and weren’t disappointed

Fresh food but a little bit over priced.
But the location itself with the possibility to eat outside makes it still worth it.
3 tapas bars share that square in front of their restaurants and it’s warm enough even in January to enjoy a nice meal there.
We had a mixed seafood appetizer cooked in white wine. (Special of the day.) Fried calamari and their Paella. The Paella was a little bit disappointing but it was not really bad.
Service was friendly and quick.
Nice place to sit down after you walk back up from the harbor area.

Great location by a square and large selection of tapas. Most of them were quite tasty, and I would visit this place again.

Waren heute dort zum Abend essen. Entscheidung fiel spontan. Der Laden macht einen gepflegten Eindruck. Als wir reinkamen wurden wir sofort angesprochen und haben einen Tisch für zwei Personen bekommen. Dann haben wir eine, sagen wir mal, multilinguale Karte mit einer seeeeehr grosse. Tappas Auswahl bekommen. wir haben uns ein paar leckere Sachen ausgesucht und bei einer leider etwas unfreundlich wirkenden Kellnerin bestellt. Ich hatte wieder einmal das Gefühl, als die Kellnerin bemerkt hat, das wir keine Einheimischen sind sank die Laune auf Null. Naja, egal, die Tappas trudelten eine nach der anderen ein, und es war alles wirklich sehr lecker. Auch das Versprechen der Karte, das alles frisch zubereitet wird und nach und nach an den Tisch kommt wurde eingehalten. Preislich liegt man hier schon etwas höher, aber dafür in einer tollen Lage im Gotik Viertel und mit sehr leckerem Essen. Das einzige was unsetwas gestört hat, war das es seeeehr laut in dem Laden war. Aber das ist eh subjektiv und daher gebe ich dem Lokal 4 Sterne und empfehle es gerne weiter!

Taller de Tapas is a great place for tourists. The food is delicious, they speak English/​have a menu in English. Make sure to order the potatas bravas. Best thing ever. Seriously. Also my sister loved the mushroom cannelloni. We ended up dining here twice due to close proximity to our hostel, and my sister ate the mushroom cannelloni twice. The salted cod was entirely TOO salty.

Taller de Tapas ist eine Tapas-​Kette, die es zumindest 4x in Barcelona gibt. Auf einer Theke stehen verschiedene Sorten Tapas, mit ein einem Holzstäbchen zusammengehalten. Diese Holzstäbchen werden beim Kassieren gezählt und danach bezahlt. Jedes Tapa kostet einheitlich € 1.50, alles in allem ein fairer Preis; zwar bestehen die meisten Tapas aus einer Baguette-​Scheibe mit einem wirklich hübsch garnierten Topping (Schinken, Mousse aus Meeresfrüchten, Spargel etc.), aber man sollte darauf achten, auch eines dieser warmen Minitöpfchen oder Eisenschälchen zu ergattern, die mit Eintopf oder Paella gefüllt sind und oft vergriffen waren. Die offenen (roten) Weine sind überdurchschnittlich gut, der Service aufmerksam und korrekt.
Alles in allem kann man hier einmal hingehen und es ist gut — danach wird es ein wenig eintönig, die Baguette. Schnittchen sind einander dann doch zu ähnlich.

Buzy place and real central location. But they serve average tapas and at least we experienced poor somewhat arrogant service (Its probably a one off). But its probably one of few times i actually felt that i needed to comment on service straight to the horses mouth.
Quite buzy but no local touch, i prefer genuine tapas places this is obvious tailored for international crowd/​tourists

As far as food goes, this was the best restaurant we ate at while in Barcelona. Fantastic food, friendly and helpful service, and great locations, right in the middle of various architectural gems. Loved this place!

Awesome place! Great tapas and great drinks. The outdoor patio is a great place to people watch and enjoy a few delicious tapas.
The spinach dishes were delicious and the chicken kebabs were to die for! I also had a mojito and it was the perfect thing to cool me down after trekking around Barcelona for god knows how many hours.
Definitely give this place a try! I have heard great things about all of their locations.

Sitio al lado de la Catedral del Mar. El menú del día, a pesar de no ser copioso, esta bastante bien y esta compuesto por primero, segundo, postre y bebida. Aunque la variedad es escasa, tres opciones a elegir por plato, y el entrecot tiene un suplemento de 2 euros, no es una mala opción si estas por la zona.

Mitten in der Altstadt von Barcelona gelegen lädt das Taller de Tapas zur Shoppingpause auf einem kleinen Platz ein.
Die Bedienung ist flott und freundlich, das Preisniveau gehoben.
Da ich kein besonderer Tapas– Freund bin, mag mein Urteil über das Essen nicht verwundern, wer auf fettiges Essen abfährt wird es eventuell toll finden.
Ich persönlich mochte es nicht. Das Brot mit Tomate war eher ein in Tomatenwasser aufgeweichtes Brot. Alle anderen Speisen schmeckten nach Fett und Knoblauch. Wer sich davon nicht abschrecken lässt, erhält allerdings relativ große Portionen.
Würde man am Abend nicht schief angesehen werden, wenn man nur ein Glas Tinto trinken und nichts essen möchte, wäre es sogar ein romantischer kleiner Fleck in der Altstadt Barcelonas.

Taller de Tapas es una cadena de restaurantes de muy buena aceptación y que en Barcelona hay de momento como cinco establecimientos repartidos estratégicamente por los barrios más interesantes de la ciudad. El local de este avis corresponde al del carrer Argentería (Calle Platería), en pleno corazón del Born, zona muy concurrida por la movida barcelonesa del Born y de innumerables turistas dada su proximidad al museo Picasso, de los palacios del carrer Montcada, la iglesia de Sta. María del Mar y de los bonitos parajes medievales de la zona. Taller de Tapas Born está enclavado en un edificio protegido del siglo XVI, con una terraza en una plaza siempre concurrida a cualquier hora, comidas, cenas y drink’s y en el interior con una atractiva barra y un buena sala comedor llevada por un servicio amable, atento y profesional. Al mediodía me ofrecieron un menú de 12 EUR de dos platos, postre y bebida que no estuvo nada mal. Comí unos espaguetis bolognesa y de segundo una colita de rape con guarnición, de postre una macedonia de frutas y para beber una cerveza; no está mal por este precio considerando el lugar y su situación. Fuí muy bién servido y la próxima vez lo frecuentaré en su especialidad de tapas.

Was there for a quick tapas lunch. After a few meat and seafood heavy days I was in the mood for veggies. The watermelon gazpacho, spinach and chickpeas, and fried artichoke stood out. Of course we also had some octopus but I think it was a little tough. Overall, a good choice for lunch.

Avis mitigé sur ce resto. Faut réserver puis attendre pour la terrasse. Le premier soir, j’ai commandé des gambas à la plancha qui se transforment au final en crevettes. Les serveurs n’ont pas eu l’occasion de me prévenir certainement. Mais elles sont bonnes ces crevettes à la plancha, surtout bien assaisonnées. Le pan con tomato délicieux, et les patatas bravas, les meilleures que j’ai mangé de tout mon séjour. Les calamars à la plancha sont à tomber eux aussi. Je suis séduite et décide d’y retourner pour le dîner de départ. Et là, grosse déception. Je pense que le personnel n’était pas le même en cuisine ce jour là. Les mêmes plats savoureux de l’avant veille m’ont paru fades. Faut y aller, car la terrasse vaut le détour, même si le service laisse un peu à désirer. Mais au final, même si c’est un des plus chères de la rue, ça reste quand même abordable comparé à des prix de bonne tables française, par exemple.

There are so many restaurants in the area but were immediately attracted to this place. It’s usually very busy so we opted to sit at the bar right in front of the seafood (yay!) It was a really good first meal in Barcelona but generally found the seafood extremely salty and found one of the waiters a little pushy. To balance the salty food, order the tomato bread.
Grilled calamari — Really good
Pulpo — fresh but a little salty
Jamon — yum!
Seafood paella — So salty. I’d avoid this one — there are other places that can do this better.
The prices are higher than other places but the portions definitely make up for it.

Après en avoir essayé plusieurs, cela fait presque 4 ans que je passé des été a Barcelone, c’est pour moi le meilleur ! On tombe souvent sur des restaurants qui improvisent des menus tapas pour pas cher et qui au final sont seulement des attrapes touristes.
On en essaie plusieurs et au final ça nous revient plus cher qu’un vrai bon resto tapas. Taller de Tapas est un peu plus cher, mais reste cependant dans les limites du raisonnable. Ca vaut le coup de payer plus cher, mais on y passé une agréable soirée. La sangria pour arroser le tout est juste parfaite ! Le quartier est très sympa, un peu plus calme. Il y a beaucoup de restaurants a côté et de glaciers si mes souvenirs sont bons. Un bon restaurant avant de se lancer dans la visite du quartier gothique, ou encore du Musée Picasso !

This is the Taller de Tapas that’s located down the old silversmith’s street in the Born district. The Building containing this modern, comfortable and office worker-​friendly Tapas place dates from the 16^th Century and was once a Nun’s Convent. It’s a fun place to eat and an interesting place to watch people. In our case, there was a table full of boisterous British Lads at the next table. They were either in Town as Tourists or maybe to catch the FC Barcelona/​Seville match that night?
Gayle and I remember Taller de Tapas 3 different ways:
— Sometimes slow service.
— A time in our trip when we had both gotten on each others nerves and we took the opportunity to be honest about our feelings, talk it out, and move forward.
— Various delicious dishes, of which every one struck a special note.
Our tasty choices included:
— Salad w/​Nuri’s Goats’ Cheese, Quince Jelly, and Toasted Almonds
— Grilled Squid
— Sauteed Spinach, Iberian Pancetta, and Chickpeas
— Grilled Green Asparagus With Virgin Olive Oil
— Sizzling Chorizos Braised in Asturian Cider
— Patates Braves (Potatoes w/​Garlic Mayo & Spicy Smoked Paprika Sauce
— Catalan Crème Brulee (Dessert)
— Almond Tart With Sweet «Meus Amores» Wine (Dessert)
The last 2 experiences together made our Saturday Lunch a treasured 5 Star memory.

Un lugar donde comer bien y a un buen precio. Muy importante en estos tiempos de crisis que nos tenemos que estrechar el cinturón pero sin dejar de permitirnos algunos placeres como las tapas! Este restaurante fue un gran descubrimiento para mí, y mira que hay unos cuantos repartidos por toda Barcelona.

Taller de Tapas ist eine Restaurant-​Kette, die mit mittlerweile vier Läden in Barcelona vertreten ist. Die Einheimischen sprechen — im positivem Sinne — vom McDonalds unter den Tapas-​Bars, da man in jedem der vier Läden die gleichbleibend gute Qualität der Tapas geniessen kann. Aufgrund der Nähe zu unserem Hotel haben wir uns für den Laden auf der Calle Argenteria entschieden. Das Taller de Tapas ist innen modern eingerichtet und von der Größe her noch als gemütlich zu bezeichnen. Auf dem gegenüberliegenden Platz exisitert noch eine Terasse mit vielen Plätzen, wobei zu beachten ist, dass die dort servierten Speisen 10% teurer als im Laden selber sind.
Selbst gegen 8 Uhr war das Taller de Tapas schon brechend voll, so dass wir Glück hatten, noch einen ruhig gelegenen Tisch für zwei Personen ergattern zu können. Die Bedienung war freundlich, da sie allerdings auch den Außenbereich mitbedient hat, mussten wir ein wenig länger warten, bis wir unsere Bestellung aufgeben konnten. Dies war allerdings kein Problem, da wir bei der großen Anzahl an Tapas und Weinen ein wenig länger gebraucht haben, bis wir unsere Auswahl getroffen hatten.
Die Tapas wurden zügig nach der Bestellung serviert und waren auch sehr lecker (unbedingt einmal das Kräuterhähnchen-​Kebab probieren). Die Anrichtung der Speisen hätte allerdings ein wenig liebevoller sein können.
Preislich findet man Tapas von EUR1,40 bis ca. EUR20, in der Regel bezahlt man für einen Großteil der Tapas aber EUR3 bis EUR6.
Insgesamt hat es uns im Taller de Tapas gut gefallen, das Lonja de Tapas fanden wir dann aber doch noch eine Ecke besser.

Sehr leckere Tapas-​Bar mit schönem Ambiente, nettem und zuvorkommenden Servicepersonal. Die Tapas sind sehr gut, besonders zu empfehlen sind die frittierten Artischokenscheiben und die gebratenen Pilze — alles andere ist aber ebenfalls bestens vom Tomatenbrot bis zum den Patatas bravas. Sehr empfehlenswert.

War zweimal im Ableger auf der Rambla: Leckere Tapas, ca. 12 Euro teure, nicht so leckere (am Boden gar verbrannte) Paella und jedes Mal eine nicht nur unfreundliche, sondern unverschämte deutsch sprechende Bedienung, die nicht nur muffelig dreinschaute und die Lippen zusammenbiss, wenn sie uns bediente, sondern die Wasseflasche samt zwei Gläsern förmlich auf den Tisch knallte (ohne einzuschenken). Wir waren insbesondere von der schlechten Bedienung durch diese Frau (die anderen Angestellten waren alle sehr nett) sehr enttäuscht und haben den Laden nicht wieder betreten.

Das Essen ist wenig liebevoll arrangiert und auch nichts besonderes. es gibt viel viel bessere Restaurants mit schönerer Athmosphäre in dieser Ecke.

In BCN angekommen, im Hotel eingecheckt und weil seit dem Frühstück nix mehr gegessen, einen bären Hunger gehabt. Direkt neben unserem Hotel ist das Taller de Tapas gewesen und von unseren letzten BCN Besuchen hatten wir es noch in guter Erinnerung.
Das die Bedienung so schnell kam und unsere Bestellung entgegen nehmen wollte hat uns etwas überfordert, deshalb erst mal einen Cava bestellt und die Speisekarte ausgiebig studiert. Dann wurde bestellt: Rucolasalat mit Käse und gebrannten Mandeln, Tomatensalat mit Sardellen und Oliven, Spinat mit Kichererbsen (sensationelle), gegrillter grüner Spargel, gegrillte Sepia und Sardellen und dazu einen Rose. Das Weißbrot mit Tomate hat natürlich auch nicht gefehlt. Alles sehr sehr lecker! Ich finde sehr gutes Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis. Für ca. EUR 47 waren unsere Bäuche wohlig gefüllt.

Taller de Tapas ist ein schicke Tapas-​Bar im Herzen von Barcelona. Man kann (und das geht in Barcelona fast das ganze Jahr) sehr schön draußen sitzen oder das Interiör des stylischen Ladens genießen.
Die «Tapas-​Werkstatt» bietet klassisches spanische Kleinigkeiten wie Patates Braves, Sardinen, Schinken oder Tortilla. Die Preise sind moderat; wir haben zu Dritt inkl. einer Flasche Wein und Wasser 50 Euro gelassen und sind satt geworden.
Neben der Stamm-​Werkstatt in der Calle Argenteria gibt es auch noch einen weiteren, kleineren Ablege in der Nähe (Adresse fällt mir nicht mehr ein).
