Los Abanicos

Nice staff and good food, like some reviews already said its plenty of food! The staff are a bit in a rush but otherwise a nice restaurant in pretty surroundings.

One of the best restaurants we’ve ever been too! In a beautiful little town about 15 minutes drive from the A7. A very welcoming team, delicious freshly baked welcome breads served when you sit down. Attentive service, perfectly cooked and seasoned main courses served with probably the best baked potato dish we’ve ever eaten — on the house! A cosy dining room, great vibe and MORE than worth a visit. We’re going again before we head home, absolutely excellent and thoroughly recommend it.

We own a house in the area and every time we go there, we have to visit this restaurant at least twice. It doesn’t disappoint! The food the staff the prices, the atmosphere, the menu… It’s too good to be true!
The only thing you need to watch out for when eating here is that portions are gigantic & they serve so much yummy stuff before the food comes as well. For a girl portions are basically to share cause it’s impossible to eat it up!

In Benahavis reiht sich ein Restaurant an das nächste. Das Los Abanicos war eine Empfehlung, die ich gerne weitergebe. — Die Karte ist eine Mischung aus spanischen Spezialitäten und Steakhaus. Und was auf den Tisch kommt, ist wirklich überzeugend. Angefangen beim Amuse Gueule (eine traumhafte Paté!!!) und dem Brot. Der Salat (Bild) ist als Vorspeise gelistet, war aber selbst für zwei nicht zu schaffen. Das Fleisch war toll, sehr schön zart. — Der Service: gut. Schnell. Freundlich. Versiert. Kundig. — Man sitzt dort toll und gerne. In anderen Bewertungsportalen steht, dass besonders viele Russen im Los Abanicos sind: das kann ich bestätigen. Was an Kritik daran zu lesen ist, kann ich nicht bestätigen. — Fazit: Gute Adresse.

Came here last night. I love Benhavis, which is a lovely old hamlet with twisty side streets where cars turn up in these narrow cobbled roads when you least expect them! Restaurant tables spill out on to the pavements everywhere and there are bars tucked into corners. There’s been a lot of development here in the last few years, and the mix of old and new is very appealing. Arrive early and explore. I love the drive here from Puerto Banus where we usually stay, with its deep lush valleys and soaring mountains.
Restaurants come and go in Benhavis. Los Abanicos is the best of all these places, and there are a lot of them. It is advisable to book even though it’s a large restaurant with tables inside and out. We were served with stiff bread and lovely puffy olive bread with pâté to start, and then I had the calamari which was good. The other half raved about the avocado prawns. The children had spaghetti bolognese and grilled chicken, both of which went down very well. I had a beautifully cooked sole meunière with perfectly judged vegetables. The seasoning was absolutely right. Apparently the fillet steak was a bit overdone. I then had nougat ice cream which was gorgeous and more than I should have had of my children’s chocolate brownies. These were less popular with them because of the nuts; I thought they were wonderful. The service is top, the food is great. I’ll be back here for many more meals. It’s a solid four stars.

During our recent stay at Marriott’s Playa Andaluza in Estepona, we were given a recommendation to have dinner at Los Abanicos. We are forever grateful for that recommendation because it was one of the most memorable meals we’ve ever had. Traveling with my Mom, my husband and I had a goal of enjoying traditional food in a non-​touristy restaurant … and we were successful. We savored every bite. The fish cooked in salt was incredible as was the succulent pig. The lemon cake is a don’t miss. The quality and service is impeccable. Don’t miss this opporunity!!!
