We enjoyed the Spanish cheese tasting event during one of our cruise excursions. We were greeted by a Scottish piper in full military uniform piping when we arrived at the cheese shop. It’s always fun to learn more about the history of the country when you participate in the events. We sampled 6 different cheeses as well as wine and sausage while the owner made cheese for us. Everything that we sampled was amazing. The retail location is across the street and had a great selection of cheeses and wines.

I booked a Spanish cheese tasting tour through the cruise ship we were on and we were taken to Casa do Queixo for the tasting. Their tasting room is right across from their retail location. We were able to sample about 6 different cheeses along with some chorizo sausage and Spanish white wine. They did not speak English but we had an English speaking tour guide with us. The two men who did the tasting not only made it fun but informative as well. One of them actually made some cheese right in front of us that we were then able to taste. There was history of the different cheeses given to us while we were eating. I visited the store after the tasting and it looked really nice inside with a wide array of different cheeses, cured meats, etc.
