This is a very touristy place. The food was fine but expensive. We tried over 12 different kinds of tapas/montaditos/pinxhos and none impressed as any other place would have in San Sebastian, a meca of food.

Some of the best pinxtos in San Sebastián, here(and that is really saying something). A HUGE/somewhat staggering selection of beautiful food across the bar. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive in a way that is rare across pinxtos joints… though you do pay for that pleasure as this place is a bit pricy among its counterparts. Here, you can just grab whatever you want from the bar and can trust that the waitstaff will see your selections and mark them down on their ipads. It makes for a generally really relaxed dining experience, I only marked down a star for their somewhat overpriced-ness. We came here twice or three times over the course of a food-packed week in the Basque country. We enjoyed many seafood bites from the bar – particularly their way of serving up a tin of cured seafood prepared with extra garlic and spices.YUM. I agree with other reviewers who say that the best bite on the menu isn’t nearly clear enough. The Foie Beti Jai is AMAZING and worth ordering two of, right off the bat. This constantly crowded spot definitely deserves its place on a San Sebastián pinxtos hop. :)

Fantastic array of Tapas that can suit anyone’s tastes… from Iberian Ham to Smoked Salmon to Anchovies to Black Sausage to Olives to every combination of the above. We ordered 8 Tapas, two beers and paid less than 40 euros(even though they charged us for an extra one and didn’t believe us when we told them otherwise – hence only 4 stars) and we walked out content and I would easily go back to have more… Happy eating!

The place looks modern and clean. We walked in and I ordered a nice large glass of beer and picked up a few pintxos. Everything was good, but there really is some stiff competition in this area. My favorite pintxo was the large stuffed olives!

One our many pintxo stops. Beti Jai is good, but not excellent. Their outstanding dish is not displayed. We mumbled something about fois gras and between our broken Spanish/Basque-tongue and their English, we were able to special order the fatty duck liver. We all cried out in shock when the food came. Each fois gras pintxo was literally half the size of our palms(small hands, but nonetheless…) for 3.8 euro each. They were nicely grilled, garnished with some caramelized fruit and onions and buttered crostini… just EXCELLENT. You can’t get this in NY for the price. Simply amazing.

Hip, modern, sleek vibe like that of an Apple store. On a rainy, humid weekend night when most bars were packed, this place had AC and plenty of room despite also being busy. Needing to get off our feet, we opted for table service in the back, and were seated & served right away. I love places with BIG wine glasses and good wine. Good variety of freshly made Pinxtos with unique combinations, all in the 3 – 4 star range. Come for the food/drink, stay for the ambience, seating, and AC.

This is a modern destination, it has a happy feel with a positive and helpful vibe. This waiting staff are so willing to help, and assist with the menu. The wine list is good with a great range to be selected from and we were well supported when making our decisions. The food menu is also excellent. The food options start with an extensive array of pinxtoes from the bar to a wide selection from the two menus. Over a number of visits we have enjoyed wonderful squid, octopus, pork beef cheeks, pork ribs, mushrooms, rice octopus, lobster, goats cheese salad and green salad. Every dish we enjoyed and the food is consistently very good. Each dish was well presented and we were regularly followed up as to our satisfaction with the quality of the food. This is a high quality eating house and we will return…

Too expensive. Refused to give tap water. Zeruko was way better and cheaper.

Expensive and food to me was not too impressive. I much preferred the dingier looking places in San Sebastian than this trendy pintxos bar. The food was better and the people were friendlier. Service a bit snooty and not friendly here — maybe because of the trendier environment and oh we’re too cool for you vibe I felt here. Head over to La Cepa for better jamon. I couldn’t finish eating the jamon plate and ended up taking it to go and throwing it in the trash later. If you like to hangout at trendy places and around good looking bartenders, eat here.

This is a very contemporary place. Nice selection, with an emphasis on seafood dishes. The food is looks very crisp and cleanly executed. Very nice attention to detail. Food was good. Prices were higher than some of the neighboring bars.

I spied Beti Jai after walking out of Munto one evening, stuffed to the brim. We came back to try it the following day. I actually photographed the food from just outside the door so I could remember the place, since the shrimp looked so delicious from across the way. It is by far the most contemporary pintxos bar that we came across in the city of San Sebastian, with a heavy emphasis on shrimp and fish. Their presentation is all white, and it really makes the food pop. It’s a little more expensive than some of the other places but our food here was really great. Not many of the bar staff spoke English but we managed, and happened to also score a table at around 1pm literally minutes before the entire restaurant filled up. A must have — their croquetas de bacalau. Crispy on the outside with a bechamel-like filling mixed with salted cod — we should have grabbed WAY more of them!

We started our pintxos(pinchos) tour of San Sebastián here. They have an immaculately well presented spread here. Everything looked beautiful… and tasted amazing as well. Stop in here to have your mind blown one tiny bite at a time!
