Not a BA first class lounge by any means and it appears to be a rest stop for every airline/partner flying out of this side of the airport. When I walked in it was packed with people. The food is pretty basic, just some turkey sandwiches and stale chips. They have a modest drink selection including Coke light and Coke Zero, so that worked for me. I was both surprised and a bit perturbed that despite being in Spain the lounge had no pork products. I mean why are we catering to just a select set of diners? What about vegans or vegetarians, or Hindus? There should be a variety of food options I think. Oh well, I was tired of jamon anyway. And the wifi situation is odd. You have to provide personal details plus click on some sponsor. Isn’t flying business or being an airline VIP enough for wifi these days? Sheesh.

For what appeared to be a pretty modern airport, the Barcelona VIP lounge is small and just ok. I think the biggest gripe i have for it is that for a larger than average airport, all of the airlines have to share the same lounge. I wish this were only for Star Alliance, instead it’s literally for all of the alliances. I know I’m being picky and this is literally a first world problem. But I like my own alliance lounge. This lounge got pretty crowded after a while. The redeeming factor for this lounge is that they offer free mini sandwiches, snacks, beer, and ice cream.

Definitely a premium lounge. Joint lounge was kind of wierd, but didnt seem crowded. You can get Full bottles of water, soda, juices, ice cream(yes that’s right) & yogurt!!! Also available are the standard pastry and dry cereal offerings as well. Nothing out of this world, but the seats are very comfy. If this place had exclusive Catalunya treats — that would be 5 stars for me.

If I could give negative 5 stars, I would. Never have I been treated with such disrespect and entitled attitude by any airport-related employee on all my years of travel(this even includes Spirit and Ryan Air employees. That’s low) as the young«lovely» lady behind the desk this morning. I am Sky Priority with Delta so normally on international flights I get access to lounges. It clearly lists Sky Team on the outside of the lounge as one of the partners. When I tried to check in this morning to grab a quick coffee and jump on a conference call in a quieter space, she had SUCH attitude and said that«Again(again??), your ticket is not good, none of Delta Sky priority statuses qualify for this lounge and your gate is past security on the other side anyways so why would you even try to come in here? You’re not welcome. So don’t come back.» Not sure if she was confusing me with some other traveler, but regardless, it’s not ok. I understand trying to keep the rif raf out and if they don’t partner with Delta Sky, fine, but explain that in a courteous manner, not with hostility and like I was a little kid trying to go inside some exclusive adult-only club. I work in luxury brand marketing and the number one difference between the luxury and the rest are customers’ perceptions and the way these brands treat their customers. If you’re going to pretend you’re a luxury airport lounge, you must teach your employees basic customer service ASAP. Or fire them(as I would, if my employee had that sort of attitude towards customers). You can keep your stale croissants lady. The friendly service just down the escalator at Dehesa Santa Maria is much worthy of my time and money.

Very spacious, couches for a little nap. Not too busy at the moment(monday afternoon). Food choices could be more diverse, but overal, very nice.

Magazinauswahl ebenfalls negativ.

I’ve traveled extensively over the years and I have to say of all the airport«lounges» the VIP Lounge at Barcelona Airport gets it right! Conveniently located for international travelers, it’s stocked with everything you need … refreshments, snacks(including olives!), wi-fi, showers, sleeping rooms and clean bathrooms. I’ve been here twice now and both times I had the same experience. If you’re traveling from Barcelona, make sure you get to the airport early so you can check it out! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

This lounge is used by multi-airlines and offers a variety of pastries such as plain croissants, chocolate croissants, and butterfly cookies. Self-serving beverage bar includes coffee, soda, juice, wine, gin, and beer. Not all top shelf items but enough to get through the wait for your flight. There is also ice cream for the kids. The lounge does not announce flights so make sure to monitor your time. Wi-Fi is free for the first 15 minutes and then you have to purchase a block of time. The Wi-Fi service is the same service used in the lounge and throughout T1(Gate D & E). I was given a lounge pass when I checked in for 2 additional guests. However, I was able to use my American Express Priority Pass to also get into the lounge.

Haven’t been to many VIP lounges but I gotta say, it’s alright. They have an instant coffee maker… and some light snacks… not much for those who are watching what they eat. There was free wifi for a short time… basically long enough to check your email otherwise you have to pay. Bathrooms were nice. It was nice to have a place to sit and hang until it was time to get to the next flight.

This is a sort of ‘joint’ lounge for all airlines. It’s impossible to find. Come out of security and off the escalator. Turn right immediately and keep walking till you almost hit a little food court area. There will be a small lone escalator going up, hidden next to the pillar and a discrete«VIP» sign. Once inside, relax and enjoy, and look out into the madness in the terminal from the observation windows.
