My husband and I recently travelled to Gijon from Philadelphia to visit family and for some much needed relaxation. One day, while exploring the city, we passed by a beautiful café with the most delicious looking pastries in the window. We stopped in the next morning for breakfast. We were greeted by the owner of the establishment, who was so friendly and understanding as we tried to communicate in our very limited Spanish vocabulary. The pastries are amazing. They are made in house so they are always fresh. The atmosphere was so charming. We came back every morning for the rest of our trip — and we will be back next year. Back in Philadelphia this week, there were more than a few mornings I really wished I had a blueberry muffin or chocolate croissant from Punto Caramelo!
