The online booking system Expedia used accidentally booked me for the night of the 19th on the 20th. Since this was a mistake on Expedia’s side, I was assured by the hotel front desk man that I would not be charged, that this happens all the time, and that I need not worry. Lo and behold, I looked at my account and saw was charged the next day for a hotel stay that never happened. I called expedia, and was told that the hotel would have to offer me a refund since they had decided to charge me. I returned to the hotel to speak with the front desk man who had promised several times that I would not be charged. He now claimed to have never made that promise, and to have promised the opposite. It was now too late for a refund to happen from expedia, however, since the 24 hour automatic reimbursement window had passed. Not the end of the world, but dishonesty does leave a bad taste in one’s mouth. I would not recommend this hotel.
