Apparently a local haunt, Croissant Show is right in the middle of Old Town Ibiza and can easily be found by the amazing aroma of hot, buttery pastries. We walked in right as a pan of chocolate croissants was just coming out of the oven. There’s honestly nothing like a freshly-baked croissant, but this one was truly incomparable. The flaky crust was just crunchy enough and gave way to the doughy, buttery interior. The chocolate to pastry ratio was just right, allowing for a little chocolate in every bite, but not too much to overpower the rest of the pastry. Along with croissants, they also offer an array of other pastries and quiches as well. It’s the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee, or just grab a snack while exploring the Old Town.

Pretty cute restaurant to spend hours in(and I mean hours, they really like to take their time in Spain!). Plenty of seating but it was also very busy. I had a tuna quiche which I enjoyed, and the espresso came with a little piece of cake which was necessary because the espresso was so strong. It’s in a hopping location so there are plenty of other things to browse around after. I liked that we were seated outside, because it was the perfect spot to people watch! Unfortunately I did not have a croissant, a regret of mine. Bathroom was the tiniest thing ever, I couldn’t go because I felt too claustrophobic.

Fun place to do people-watching from. It’s situated at the ancient catwalk-like ‘ramp’ just outside the entrance to the ancient city. Croissant Show has a great terrace with free wifi, nice fresh juices, superb coffees and delicious freshly self-baked croissants, pain au chocolate and other typical French pastry. I especially love their ice coffees. They open very early, so you can enjoy their great croissants right after clubbing. The(a genuine Frenchman) owner is hilarious, lots of fun, and most friendly. You would swear Salvador Dali is still with us! His very slow and unfriendly personnel should take him as their example… But they don’t. Otherwise Croissant Show would’ve gotten my full 5 stars.

After pulling an all-nighter and watching the sun rise, we needed to fill our bellies with something, and a local had told us about this place. We made out way from the beach, through town to this place. I must mention the location of this, because it is right next to the gate to Old Town Ibiza, and it is absolutely beautiful. We arrived to an already busy place around 7 or 8am, which must be a good sign! The best, most refreshing thing, was the fresh orange juice that we had before anything else. It was SO delicious, and so fresh tasting! Then followed a basket of the most amazing pan chocolates and croissants, and we wish we didn’t stop there because everything on display looked amazing. But have no fear, we were already back the next day for a second round! They were constantly bringing out freshly baked goodies, and we were able to snag some gooey and warm pastries, with some delicious espresso. I know they have a savory, «real food» menu, but we just couldn’t get past all of the baked goods! It was also amazing that the owner was such a nice guy! Look for the mustache and you have found your hospitable entertainment for the day! I’m dying to return to ibiza now, not because of the insane time we had, but because of Croissant Show!

When I saw the heading ‘Croissant Show’ I envisaged a line of croissants doing the cancan with garters three quarters up the way of their brown folds. The reality was a lot more sedate. Due to the searing sun the shade of the outdoor dining was very welcome. I had a beer, a sparkling water and two coffees… When I asked at a separate spot for an americano I was sneered out, they do expressos and that is all. Impressive snack menu and friendly service. You can take as long as you want over your drink unlike Ireland. The toilets however are the stuff of contortionist’s dreams. The staff behind the café buzz you upstairs, there is a metal grill preventing you from going up the stairs. The distance between the wall and the toilet door is tiny, it’s like climbing a mountain ledge. You have to place your body sideways and manoveur in — very stressful for an over heated Northern European.
