I can highly recommend Bodega Silvano Garcia! I am on holiday in Spain with my husband and I wrote a short email to the address I found on the internet, asking about possibilities to visit the vine yard. Silvano himself answered me immediately and I also got an answer from Rita Vargas. I was told that we could come the following day and off we went. There are four different versions of visits and we picked number 3, for a price of 12 euros/person. The price varies from 3 – 15 euros/person depending on which version you choose. For 12 euros we got a tour of the bodega, where Antonio told us about wine making and showed us around. In the end we got to taste 9 different wines and we also got some ham, cheese, jam that they make from the wine, and chips. While tasting white wine, rosé and young and old red wines and finally two dessert wines, Antonio told us the differences of the wines, how long they have been in barrels and so on. I guess the tour takes about 1,20 hours normally, but Antonio was in no hurry, so I think we spent about 3 hours there… =). Of course we bought some good wine, beautiful tree boxes and jam, since even the very best wine is about 3 – 4 times less expensive then in Finland! If you visit this region or travel anywhere close, be sure to visit Silvano García’s bodega! We found the place at Avenida de Murcia 29, Jumilla, I am not sure if Calle Progreso 7 is an older address. Salud!
