Al Macarroni

location, location, location. the tables right on Las Canteras (probably one of the safest-​feeling outdoors dining areas I’ve seen) let you feel the breeze coming in while you enjoy a good meal. after being cooped up on the boat for 3 days I needed a seat on solid earth and something edible that I couldn’t get on the boat.
I decided to try the Canary Islands’ spin on pizza here. it was thin-​crust, it had a modest amount of red mojo sauce, and it had a lot of small potatoes on it. while the pizza cooled down somewhat as I had to wait for my wife’s correct order to arrive, the heat-​retaining power of potatoes helped keep it warm enough to still taste fresh! science in action! yes, I was a fan of the pizza (I wrecked it, leaving minimal trace).
and what good is pizza without a big glass of beer, right? carbo-​loading for the win!
yes, like many beachside dining options, it does cater to tourists, but the diverse menu also has something for everyone and is available in a slew of languages. service was helpful, and when they sent my wife the wrong dish (steak instead of chicken) they didn’t get pissy with us.
it was also pretty inexpensive. lunch for the two of us ran just under 30 Euro. I honestly expected higher since these beachside places tend to mark it up.

Located at Las Canteras Playa in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, we tried this Restaurant and found it not bad,
We had the penne Arabiata which wasn’t that spicy and they don’t have anything to elevate the spices in it,
The Sangria was good but almost without alcohol in it.
The service is not very friendly neither fast.
Prices are ok, meanwhile other Italien restaurants in the area are better

Mittagshunger? Auf der Strandpromenade auf Gran Canaria kein Problem, denn hier tümmeln sich die Restaurants hintereinander. DIE richtige Wahl zu finden, ist schwer. Sich kurzfristig Bewertungen durchzulesen, zu aufwendig. Daher einfach hier im Restaurant «Al Macarroni» Platz genommen mit Blick auf das Meer und den Strand. So kann man es sich gut gehen lassen.
Die Bedienung hat uns auch schnell wahrgenommen und nach der Sprache gefragt. Kaum erwähnt, trottete sie davon, um mit der deutschen Speisekarte wiederzukommen. Deutsch ist natürlich nicht gleich deutsch. Ich schätze, die Übersetzung wurde mit Google-​Translator gemacht. Es reichte aus, um sich Pizza und Pasta näher zu bringen und eine Entscheidung zu fällen und trug dazu bei, sich zu amüsieren.
Sowohl die Pizza als auch die Pasta wurden schnell und heiß serviert, waren optisch nett angerichtet und schmeckten lecker. Zur Pizza wurde Chiliöl und zur Pasta Parmesam gereicht. Letzteres war allerdings nicht selbst geriebenen, sondern Tütenkauf. Ein wenig schade. Die Nudelportion hätte auch etwas größer sein dürfen.
Für den Mittagshunger hat es uns hier gefallen, die Preise sind mit 7 – 10 Euro pro Gericht mittelmäßig human.
