Barceló Castellana Norte

My boyfriend’s company booked this hotel for us because his conference was literally next door to the hotel. The décor was very modern, the rooms were a good size and comfortable. They have a restaurant downstairs that I never ate at because they don’t open until 8pm. I still don’t understand how the Spaniards eat dinner around 10pm… Their café that served Mediterranean food seemed to be open for most of the day which was convenient.
What I hate about this hotel is the location. During morning peak commuting hours it could take up to 30 mins to reach downtown Madrid. My taxi ride cost on average $ 30 to get down there and then another $ 20-​$ 30 to get back in the evening.
If you’re here on business and you don’t have time to do any sight seeing then by all means consider this hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice during our stay. If you’re here as a tourist, STAY AWAY!!!
