1.5 stars? — That’s outrageous! OK — full disclosure. the first time I came to Café Bruselas was in 1972. The last time was in 1978. This café was a fixture of my early childhood. A vestige of pre– and post-Franco Spain for me. It is where I’d go with either my mother or father or both — during the week, or even on a weekend. Surely it doesn’t merit 1.5 stars today. But, in the case that it does, when then it should be ashamed of itself, for it has a long history of top-quality before it. In many respects, this is the sort of Café than one could legitimately conjure when reading Hemingway’s «Clean Well-Lighted Place». It is the Café of my youth.

Este sitio lleva décadas en este barrio. Es bastante caro y el perfil de la gente es bastante elevado(tercera edad) pero adinerada. No recomendable para gente joven buscando marcha.
