Overall a great meal. Tried the Lobster stew and the spider crab gazpacho. Will cost you a pretty penny but I really enjoyed both dishes and the service.

My first night in Madrid for this trip and I ate with my collegue and her American husband. Perhaps to accomodate me we ate relatively early(20:30) and the place was pretty empty. I arrived early and had a momment to chit chat with some of the team. Very nice folks some nice insights on the food. We went with a mix of starters and an amazing bottle of Rioja. Ever since my first trip to spain, Chiperones en su Tinta is a must for me. They did a wonderful job of the dish and if I could get my countrymen to eat something black, they would be amazed. Finished with café solo y flan. A wonderful night.

Superb restaurant. It’s a confident classic Basque repertoire with a bold contemporary eclectic dimension. And oh, what truly scintillating sensations! They combine oysters with gin & tonic, for example. Thrilling. And there is a dish which I call the egg thing in which a softly poached egg emerges in the middle. Totally decadent. I also strongly recommend their sleek interpretation of the Valencian dish fideuá. I liked it so much I took the menu home with me. The wine list is a first-class Spanish fine wine list and the sommelier, Mario, is an excellent professional. The service is charming, attentive and serious. Pity smoking is allowed in Spain, it lets everything down in a big way. But go to Goizeko urgently. Apologies for the poor quality of the photos, I forgot my usual digital camera and had to use my phone.
