Índigo Madrid

We had an awesome stay at this lovely hotel.
The staff was accommodating and very promp with services, the room was small but comfortable, clean and modern. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of the action and has a decent restaurant on the first floor and a bar on the top with decent views, I can’t say much about the pool since I visited in May but it looked great! I’m looking forward to going back to Madrid and when I do I’ll be staying here again.

Very pleased with my stay at the Indigo. My wife and I needed some pampering on the long european trip we were finishing in Madrid and found comfort and a very friendly staff. Hip modern room, fluffy pillows, relaxing rooftop pool, great room service, excellent location, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

The Hotel Indigo is a newer hotel conveniently located just a half block off the Gran Via, fairly close to the Palacio Real and just around the corner from the Santo Domingo metro station. Shopping and dining in just about all price ranges and numerous other transit options are all adjacent or just a short stroll away.
The hotel sits in the middle of the block and it’s signage is a bit obscured depending on your approach, but we found it without any hassle. It tends to be a bit on the pricey side, but we secured a reasonable deal at about 110 € per night.
Similar to most other Hotel Indigo locations we’ve stayed at, our room had modern décor with an edgy vibe. The green bathroom accent/​nightlight was pretty cool and floor to ceiling windows added a classy touch, though the views along the side street from our 5^th level room weren’t terribly appealing. The room was small but the bed and pillows were quite comfortable.
The A/​C is a centralized system which apparently isn’t activated until later in April or maybe May and being that we like cool temps for sleeping and lounging in the evening, we were relieved that the windows opened wide enough to allow for modest fresh air flow.
The television offered programming in several different languages, but it was a bit disappointing that the only English language stations available were news and business channels. After a long day of exploring the city and working my feeble Castilian, it would have been nice to spend a few minutes unwinding and veg to something other than news or business.
Libations are available on site, but the bar on the lobby level is quite small, the better option is the roof top bar which is spacious, sort of trendy looking and provides some great views of the city.
The staff was efficient and accommodating and everyone we encountered seemed to be bilingual in Castilian and English.
The centralized location and the close proximity of surrounding buildings which created a sort of canyon echo effect conspired to produce one less appealing feature which was street noise. We kept our window cracked to get cool air through the night and so heard the occasional rowdy, late night partier as well as the occasional roaring car or truck, but it wasn’t that bad. And, with the window closed such sounds were barely noticeable.
All in all, this is a nice, somewhat posh feeling hotel in a pretty great location. We’ll most likely stay there again next time we visit Madrid.
