This is the best place in town for steak. It’s spendy and the waiter always seems a bit odd, but the food makes it worth it. Also, my mom has the hamburger and said it was the best one she ever had.

Si je dois résumer en un mot: PARFAIT Tout était parfait du début à la fin. Il est rare que je n’émette aucune critique, et pourtant ! Le service était souriant, attentionné, dans un décor sobre, joliment décoré ou l’on se sent tout de suite bien. Un petit mojito surprenant … Au céleri en guise de mise en bouche, c’était divin. De l’entrée au dessert, du goût, des saveurs, de la finesse, on sent qu’il y a un bon chef derrière les fourneaux et qu’il prend le temps de préparer ses plats avec de bons produits. Et pour finir une note plus que raisonnable. Une telle gentillesse et de telles saveurs sont suffisamment rares pour les soutenir. Allez y les yeux fermés et vous né serez pas déçus ! Deux visites dans ce restaurant pendant mon séjour a Madrid et je vous le conseille fortement si vous êtes de passage dans cette jolie ville.

Tasty food — main courses(squid over risotto, deconstructed hamburger) and a really nice chocolate-four-ways dessert. Egg-and-mushroom appetizer was good too, though we were warned that it would take ~20 minutes.(Not a big deal, although when the dish arrived I was puzzled why it had taken so long and the portion was pretty small. I enjoyed the garlic mushrooms at La Sanabresa much more and they were much less expensive.) Also, we asked specifically for tap water, but I believe that we were charged for Evian. Not a huge deal and I did not make a fuss over it when the bill came, but just slightly annoying. Décor was hip and modern. There were lots of other international diners, which probably reflects the fact that the restaurant is very highly-rated on TripAdvisor(which makes it a little odd that no one had reviewed it previously on Unilocal)… It was easy to make reservations via The Fork website. Figure on spending ~50 Euro for dinner for two here. Moderate by the standards of many European cities, but it’s certainly possible to eat well in Madrid for less.
