Paseo del Prado

this is the strip of pavement/​sidewalk that runs the length of the prado museum and botanical gardens. it’s a great place to people watch, take in a few minutes of a street performer, shop for souvenirs, or go for a run. hubby and i actually did all four when we were touring madrid. keep in mind that this area is very, very busy and populated so you need to keep your eyes and your hands on your personal belongings at all times else you will be pick-​pocketed. if you enjoy walking, then this is a «can’t miss» item for your list of things to do!

Cuando me llevó aquí un colega para cenar, me asusté un poco, porque todo está muy bien puesto, los camareros con su uniforme, todo muy bien cuidado, plantitas, manteles finos, vamos que yo me dije para mi mismo… A la basura los 30 euros que llevo para hoy y mañana, y luego empecé a ver detalles, como que los platos del cubierto que había sobre la mesa, tenían algunos desconchones en los filos dorados que estos tenían, y me fuí cabreando poco a poco más mientras esperabamos al resto de comensales. Cual fue mi sorpresa al ver la carta, los precios eran muy buenos y además contaba con un menú de cena por 13 euros. La verdad que me sorprendió batante, porque además la comida estaba muy trabajada y muy buena.

riesige Straße mit nem Park in der Mitte. Wer nen Park sucht, sollte in den riesigen gleich nebenan gehen. Die Straße ist furchtbar lang und laut. Die Fußwege sind extrem eng.
– Lieber mit der U-​Bahn drunter durch fahren.
