Bar/Restaurant/Hotel that I’ve experienced 2 outta 3. The bar might have the best Sangria in all of Madrid. It’s sweet and fruity and Muy Delicioso. If you are American, u wanna stay here. King sized bed and a shower that someone over 6 ft can stand in, nuff said.

Perfecto Spectacular, rich, good service and the food … Oh, the food! Do not forget to ask(for any reason) the crispy oxtail. The salmon tataki and dumplings trotters good options too. Really, a suuuuuuuuuper recommended side. The two times I there was perfect, nice waiters and very attentive, but not heavy. Very good suggestions. Perfect. Go!

I loved staying at the Posada del Dragon! It’s a cute little hotel with an edgy modern twist. The hotel is right on Cava Baja so its definitely loud on weekend nights(and of course night being 12am-5am). But if you enjoy being able to watch hundreds and hundreds of people below you enjoying summer nights and easily joining in by just walking downstairs, Posada del Dragon is a perfect place to stay! Best part was that it was only 95EUR a night! The rooms all have their own unique touches and bright colored floors and walls. But they are cozy and welcoming. Also having a balcony that faces the streets of Madrid makes the whole experience even more welcoming. If I visit the city again, I would definitely stay here!

Extremely happy with this hotel! Fair to say that there are better hotels, but for which you have to pay more money. Which is exactly the reason why this place gets my 4 stars. For the money that you pay in the location it is, you can’t wish for more. Very tempted to actually give this place 5 stars … Where’s that ½ star when you need it? ;) The location for this little gem can’t get any better, located right in the heart of Madrid’s tapas district: La Latina. The reception is located together with the bar, which may be a little confusing for some, but the service is so welcoming and friendly, that it poses absolutely no problems. You are not only welcomed with a smile, but a welcome drink, which is exactly what you need/want when you just arrive somewhere. The bar is also welcoming and well furnished with a homely feeling The room wasn’t massive, but furnished with very modern and chic décor giving it a very funky upmarket feeling. The bathroom was also very modernly decked out. More space was given to the bathroom than around the bed, which I appreciated. The shower was also a walk in jobby, not one of these bath/shower combos which I have no time for(having no kids mind you). We had a room with balcony facing the street which was just perfect. Fair to say that come morning there was a fair bit of noise with rubbish trucks and the like waking us up, but to me this only added to the charm of the place. Experiencing the hustle and bustle of a city is exactly the reason I travel to such place … Others I’m sure would not agree. Very nicely furnished(rooms, bar, restaurant etc.), sweet location, friendly service. What more could you want? Highly recommended!

We got the best welcome of our entire tour of Spain at Posada del Dragon. And after a 3 hour train ride and a rude cab driver, the smiling, friendly hostess who offered to check us in while we sat down and enjoyed free beer/wine and olives was much appreciated. The hotel is right on the popular Cava Baja road, where there is no shortage of tapas restaurants and boisterous, young night lifers spilling out of bars and restaurants and into the street from sundown to well in the morning. The hotel’s own entire first floor is a restaurant, with an open-roof courtyard of tables. This sounds nice but presents a problem as the rooms surround this courtyard on the above floors. The noise wasn’t *horrible* but it was definitely noticeable — talking, chatting, clinking, laughing — until midnight or so. The rooms are small but with good use of space. My sister and I shared a room, and the lack of mirror of any kind outside the bathroom made it hard for two of us to get ready at once. Also, the bathroom is a sliding glass door with frosted glass, so I don’t recommend this for non-couple sharers or those who don’t know each other really well. The breakfast buffet was € 12, which seemed a bit steep for a breakfast, but the fresh juice and croissants looked tasty. The location was excellent — we could walk to Mercado San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, Sabatini Gardens, and walking to Museo del Prado and the Reina Sofia was do-able if you wished.

I was attracted to this bar(not knowing it was part of a hotel) because of the tapas they had on display as well as the atmosphere. The bar is white with black accents including bar stools and a couple of couches, as well as a menu above the bar written on a chalkboard. For two beers and an hamburguesita(tapas style — delicious by the way), it was 5 euros. Fantastic! The crowd was a mixture of anyone and everyone out for chats, snacks and drinks. The people working there were very nice and attentive at all times — ready to take your order. The area in which it is located is full of life, and surrounded by many different bars. Definitely a place to try!
