VIPS

Por dónde comenzar?. La verdad que pocas cosas buenas tengo que decir.
No sé en qué momento me convencí de pagar 15,95 por un menú, habiendo tantos otros lugares, mucho mejores con diferencia.
Pero él hambre y el cansancio hizo que simplemente nos sentáramos y pidiéramos.
Pagábamos 15,95 € cada uno y se compartía el primer plato (entrante), a elegir entre ensalada cesar, croquetas, etc.; luego cada uno elegía el plato principal (hamburguesa, Sandwich o filete de pollo), más tarde el poste y café. Los refrescos son rellenables.
Pedimos una ensalada cesar para compartir (estaba buena), que tardó en llegar, pero a los 30 segundos de servirnosla, llegaron los platos principales. La mesa era muy pequeña y no entraba ni un plato más, el chico dijo que volvería con los platos dentro de 3 minutos.
Al terminar con los platos principales, nos dimos cuenta que nadie estaba pendiente de nosotros, los camareros parecían estar muy ocupados, hasta se me quitaron las ganas de que me rellenaran el vaso.
Finalmente nos quitaron los platos, pedimos el postre y el café. Trajeron uno de los cafés, justo después las tortitas (sin cubiertos) y cuando pasaron más de 5 minutos y me acabe el postre vi claro que se habían olvidado de mí café. Después de pedírselo, uno de los encargados finalmente me lo trajo. La cosa es que es el peor café que he probado. de haberlo sabido no hubiera preguntado por el.
El ambiente era caótico, solo se escuchaban voces y gritos, la música estaba muy baja. El servicio bastante desorganizado y aparentemente desmotivado.
Creo que fueron los 16 € peor invertidos. Por eso a veces prefiero ir a lo seguro.

Un restaurante VIPs sin diferencias con otros de la cadena.
Siempre suelo venir a este porque para estar en el centro está bastante menos concurrido, parece que pasa algo desapercibido.
Los camareros son muy amables y rápidos.

VIPS is a very casual restaurant, not the most lavish place yet they offer late breakfasts (by Madrid’s standards) which is a novelty in Madrid!!!
The service here is not exceptional as the staff are slow & nonchalant in their approach!
Although an «English» Menu is offered here the staff have little knowledge of the language & prefer to be guided through the menu by pointing!
The food is okay, decent when compared to their prices.

Service was great… Food was not! Churros are bland, French toast lacks syrup. The internet is petty!

This is an affordable option for breakfast and lunch. They offer a few but good enough options on the menu. Service might be a bit slow sometimes but after a few days in madrid you will realize is just about normal for the city.

Try the Mochaccino! The best here

What joke of a place VIPS is! A cheap Mexican chain restaurant selling American foods in Madrid? Really now!
I’m going Two Stars on this place because it’s clean, cheap and with good service, however, the food is awful. My hope is that the people of Madrid don’t actually conclude that the food served here is at all up to the standards found even in the cheapest dive bars of the United States.
I went for the Philly steak figuring it’s so simple it couldn’t possibly be screwed up but screwed up and lackluster in flavor it was. It was nothing at all compared to any Philly cheese steak I’ve ever tasted anywhere, even in Hong Kong. VIPS is nothing but a cheap belly filler of a place for food.

NOT THE SAME VIPS AS IN MEXICO. If you come here think Spanish not Mexican. I had one of the specials of the day, chicken breast with melted cheese and rice with sausa and a vegetable. The girl next to me had tacos, she left almost all. The special was 7 euros including drink. There are two floors, the restrooms are clean but you need the code to get into it. There are lots of sweets too and its a good place to go for lunch or late night snacks be in in Spain or in Mexico but for going to Vips in Mexico for the past 25 years for breakfast, lunch, and late snacks I do like the Mexican Vips better, I just like my food spicy and alive with taste but for a good fast meal you can’t beat it. This place is so refreshing for an American!
You can find a VIPS pretty much in any neighborhood you’re in. I would describe it as a nicer Chili’s. They have a variety of foods from breakfast to burgers to ribs to wraps & salads! It isn’t necessarily cheap but is cheap for a good American meal!
I got the french toast last time I was there– to die for! It had fresh berries topped on it, which is an expensive commodity here, with powdered sugar.
I have also had some sort of burger that probably had my daily caloric intake in it. It had bacon, a fried egg and a fried onion ring. It was massive and amazing!

¿Te gusta el VIPS?, ¿estás en una página para que gente que se cree guay comente lo excelente que es un restaurante extrañísimo justo tras entrar en el callejón Diagon?

El VIPS es esa cadena de restaurantes conocida por todos y pensada para que esas familias que no están en Unilocal salgan a cenar un sábado por la noche con los niños. Es el restaurante de la gente que no conoce restaurantes. Es el restaurante donde te cobran demasiado por hamburguesas que se desmenuzan, patatas congeladas de supermercado y cocacola de jarabe con soda.
No vayas. Ya que estás en esta página, búscate algo mejor.

Sentí que la memoria me había traicionado las últimas veces que comí en el Vips. He estado en el de Xanadú, en el de Tres Aguas y en muchos otros repartidos por Madrid, y no, que no me convencen.
Repetí con tanta frecuencia las visitas por eso de que te regalan una comida si vuelves en un límite de tiempo. Decidí darles una oportunidad porque a veces el fallo es del establecimiento, no de la cadena, pero me equivoqué.
Las patatas normales ridículamente finas y frías. El pan se desmigajaba. La carne no sabía a nada. La última camarera que me atendió en este lugar no nos preguntó cómo queríamos la carne ni la guarnición. Cuando la dijimos que preferíamos patatas gajo, nos miró como si no supiésemos de que estábamos hablando.
Desde luego, con la de locales que hay por Madrid, no merece la pena pararse aquí.

VIPS is essentially a Spanish Denny’s.
They offer something for every tourist! English breakfast, American breakfast, Spanish breakfast… burgers and fries, tapas…
Service was painfully slow, but our food was ordered and served quickly. The free wifi is also a plus!
They have a small convenience store in the building which came in handy for buying bottled water, snacks and small, packable meals.

Yo no sé ni para qué me molesto en ir a este Vips ni a ninguno. La comida ha caído en picado: platos calientes del microondas, comida fría por dentro, patatas recalentadas de hace horas, filetes requemados como una suela de zapatilla…
A la decadencia de su comida, incluidos sus cacareados nuevos platos que son malos como ellos solos (la pasta Little Italy es una porquería con un dedo de aceite o un plato de arroz con gambas tiene las gambas CRUDAS) se une la incompetencia del servicio. Cada vez hay menos camareros que, por otra parte, están tan agobiados que no se enteran de nada, traen los platos a destiempo, se equivocan, no saben lo que tiene un plato o no… Es de vergüenza.
Vips es de esos sitios que tiene muchos altibajos, a ver si ahora sale del bajo y empieza en alti dentro de poco o me borro de socia del Club Vips.

Another good cafeteria (café/​restaurant) in the Alcala area. This restaurant is across from my hotel. They have a lot of offerings from Spanish to American dishes. So there is something for everyone. I ordered a Nebraska burger since I am craving for something that is familiar and filling. The burger was cooked to perfection, medium. The one thing that is unique to this burger is that it has a fried egg on top of the patty… so, juicy beef patty + fried egg = YUMMAAAAAY! The only problem I encountered was when I ordered Café Americano, I thought it was a regular coffee but instead it was actually an esspresso. This, of course was my bad and not the restaurant’s fault. I also ordered Coke Light (diet), the Coke bottle was so small. Being so used to getting free refills in the States, I was sipping it like it was precious liquid gold. The service was extremely friendly and fast. As far as pricing, I would say it was a bit more expensive than VIPS or Hontanarios. But overall, I enjoyed dining at this cafeteria.
