Taberna Matahambre

Tardan en servir bastante (incluso las bebidas) pero la comida no está mal. Quizá es mejor pedir siendo un grupo de varias personas para que el precio sea asequible. Las bebidas no incluyen tapas. El ambiente es bueno y en el piso superior hay bastante sitio como para estar cómodo.

We decided to try this place, since it was literally across the street from our airbnb, and we had a great time! We had the potatoes (sauce on the side), the iberian ham, and a donut sandwich. All were very tasty. Apple pie was a little strange though. It was soaked in some kind of custard, but was more like a soup. Have to admit the service was a little lacking — had to wait a very long time for the check, to order, etc., but that might just be the chill Malaga mindset.

Sorprende lo barato qué es en relación con la buena cocina que ofrecen. Hay que ir temprano si vas a cenar o te tocará esperar cola. Puede ser considerada cocina de autor low cost. No dejes de probar los vinos de su translúcida bodega, son fantásticos. Sube a la segunda planta y juega a regular la intensidad de las luces de tu mesa, eso si te da tiempo… ¡La comida la sirven demasiado rápido!

My favorite tapas bar chain in Málaga!!! I’ve been to a few «Matahambre» but the one in the Malaga Centro is my preferred chain because it’s hipper. There is always a long wait but it’s sooooo worth waiting for sure!!! I’ll gladly wait 30 min. for their delicious tapas! Buenísimos los rulos mechados! Son sensacionales!!! This dosa like crispy wrap of braised beef called «los rulos mechados» is absolutely delicious!!! When I come here with friends, we usually order los rulos, huevos rotos (seasoned fried egg and jamon over french fries), berenjenas fritas con miel (fried egg plant with honey), and pastel de queso fresco con mermelada de mora (cream cheese with blackberry jam. Es una pasada!!! Mmmmmmm!!!). Their sandwiches are excellent too! They offer so many variety of solid quality tapas at such an excellent price!!! Lo mejor el precio! Last time I went to Matahambre with 7 people, we all ate so much and yet each person only paid about 8 Euros! How fantastic is that??? Their cakes are supposed to be amazing and yet I still haven’t tried any of them yet! Que verguenzaaaaa!!!
